brsdrgn, 05 Jul 2024You know nothing about the sound. All the bs you put in you... moreGot the abbreviations mixed up, they call it UHD, because they all like to reuse already established abbreviations for other types of media. Points stands, your massive derailment into overpriced Sony headphones, when somehow wanting to defend Qualcomm's useless proprietary clone of Samsung's codec is at best bizarre. Because, you know, Sonly also don't waste their money on Qualcomm's codecs.

Then you link to some obvious content theft site, with zero visitors and a billion random stolen nonsensical writeups. And I'm the crazy one?...

don't understand why everyone is saying samsung is copying apple airpod when even before airpod was release into the market, bluetooth earphones with stem was already available in the market coz I bought one for use from aliexpress like 2 years before airpod was release

Not a fan of the stem headsets and this looks like another design Samsung copied from Apple. Guess I can buy the Buds Pro 2 for a lesser price now

Vergil, 05 Jul 2024For 500$ I would look at Sennheiser/technics rather than sonyYou don't get what you really paid for with Sennheiser. I used their iems, tws. I value money and the performance I get.

Sony really managed to get close to its house sound with xm5. I don't know if you heard about their legendary IEMs like ier-z1r, or xba series. Sony is known for presenting a great soundstage and layering. Xm5 is really good at that. What they did with that 8.2mm DD is really surprising me, especially technicality wise.

Instead of replying the facts I put there you claim is just a wall of non-sense ha?

What about your harman target? Did you get what it was for?

What about your so called lossless codec?

What about you using HDR in music terminology?

What about you using a tws and trying to stream hi-fi flac and calling it lossless? :)

Check any unbiased reviews of Samsung earphones compared to anything else in the category. Samsung does it the Harman way, thanks to them owning Harman, everyone else copies or tries to.

You being an "audiophile" is the saddest self-labelling internet experts. I've built speakers. I know a bit or two about how to shape sound. I don't label myself an "audiophile" as it's an empty word, usually meaning "I watch YouTubers hype studio specific audio as good for consumers", which is almost never is.

I really like Samsung Galaxy s series, the new buds3 pro is amazing

Anonymous, 05 Jul 2024Spell checking enabled 😁: You two have always been told,... moreWhat bs are you talking about?

First, you start saying you two always been told? Told when? When did I ever mention about the codecs? Are you hallucinating?

I'm an audiophile, having collection of IEMs, headphones since 2008. What you talk about harman target doesn't make what akg or harman does with the sound quality. Harman target is just trying to aim to find an industry standart. It's nothing about sound quality, nothing about high fidelity sound. The companies which aim to suit their IEMs to the masses going for such target. It's just a safe way to play. None of the flagship IEMs are following such frequency curve...

You wrote 'Samsung ALWAYS priorized sound quality'

Muhahahahaha. Really? Especially capitalizing 'always' shows how objective you are :)

Samsung always aimed masses. I used buds, buds+, buds pro, buds2 pro.

Buds pro was inferior to the sound quality of Sony Xm4 at the time. Samsung couldn't even achieve sound quality with two drivers implementation (two DDs, one used as tweeter) meanwhile sony achieved superior quality, resolution with a single 6mm DD.

Same goes for buds2 pro vs xm5.

I can go ahead even mention that Realme buds air 5 pro achieved better sound quality than buds2 pro with less than half of its price :)

                          You know nothing jon snow!

Not only that! There's scepticism going around the codecs going around your 'amazing' samsung's codec.

Show me a source where it proves, it's only Samsung who has true 24bit? What about LDAC, Aptx HD, Aptx Adaptive, Aptx Lossless? What about the max bit rate? What happened to that?

                          Streaming services offer HDR???

You ment Hi-Fi? You try sounding like smart ha? :)

HDR is a concern for displays. High dynamic range! What's the relation with streaming services vs HDR? Are you talking about the lossless FLAC format which will be eventually limited by the codec and dac chip inside your tws?

'I enjoy lossless music DAILY on my Samsung, over Bluetooth'

                          Lossless ha? Muhahahaha :)

You know nothing about lossless Jon Snow!

'So, why would Samsung even consider paying Qualcomm a per-device fee for an inferior clone of Samsung's own innovations? That would be quite dumb and wasteful, wouldn't it?'

Intelligence is not gifted to everyone and you're one of those who didn't get even a bite!

Imagine the brand releases a tws. Says this sounds amazing but you need to buy our device(wink wink ;))

So, a guy who already has a flagship device let's say worth 1.3k$, gonna buy Samsung tws plus Samsung smartphone ending up losing money while trying to get rid of what already has? Should he lose over maybe 500$ while doing all these not even mentioning switching the pain from one brand to another one instead of buying similarly priced xm5 which supports more codecs and has superior sound??

On using Qualcomm chip, please talk to Samsung and make them give up on Snapdragon SoC as well :D why they didn't listen such a smart guy like you, omg!

'If Qualcomm really wants their Samsung clone on everything, they need to make it free.'

Hahah, then same goes for Samsung. :) why they don't this 'Amazing' codec they have free so that everyone will benefit this superior quality! :D

BTW, seeing you use tws while trying to feed it with high fidelity sound tells about you a lot.

There's no proven lossless codec in the industry yet, FYI! There are only the ones that comes very close.

If you wanna achieve your perfect dream world, you need to go with old style cable and use sth decent(which will make you pay at least 1k just for the headphones and another 1k for the dac/dap that you'll play your music on). Then you can start getting the sense of all kbps! Which leads to the another fact which is that it's questionable how human ear perfectly differentiate difference between 320kbps vs let's say 1000kbps. The difference can be understood easily between 64/128 kbps to 320. But the return diminishes as it goes higher!

                          Genius!

Anonymous, 05 Jul 2024You are absolutely right. This is also the reason why I won... moreSo you must be an audiophile of tradition. You talk about codecs missing is a bad thing yet fail to mention trying Samsung's own codec SSC with Buds2Pro + any supported Samsung Galaxy device to test. Then you go on about this 3.5mm headphone jack attack. like man you're 7yrs late to that conversation and just emotionally singling out Samsung when just about every manufacturer has done the exact same thing across various models.

having a 3.5mm jack does NOT gaurantee Hi-Res quality sound! There is a LOT more required both internally to the smartphone and externally on the headset using 3.5mm jack that is chosen.

Pick a battle at least and stick to it through and through in your dialogue about something

                                        [deleted post]Spell checking enabled 😁:

You two have always been told, on numerous occasions, why Samsung isn't paying for an inferior clone to their own codec. Samsung owns Harnan and AKG. They take sound quality extremely serious. To the extent the entire industry makes it an religion to copy their sound signature, The Harman Curve. Therefore, Samsung has ALWAYS prioritised sound quality over gimmicks. Samsung introduced lossless 16-bit sound over Bluetooth a decade ago, and now they are the only ones able to deliver lossless 24-bit sound. Sound quality matters to a lot of people, which is why services like Anazon Music, Qobuz, Tidal and even the wannabes at Apple offer HDR music streaming services.

I enjoy lossless music DAILY on my Samsung, over Bluetooth. I have never felt the need to be connected to my phone and my tablet at the same time. Never. Not once. It's a useless gimmick wasting extremely limited bandwidth over Bluetooth.

So, why would Samsung even consider paying Qualcomm a per-device fee for an inferior clone of Samsung's own innovations? That would be quite dumb and wasteful, wouldn't it?

If Qualcomm really wants their Samsung clone on everything, they need to make it free. I mean, they probably spent the lesser part of a day reverse engineering Samsung's code anyway. Why should they get paid for that?
