I use my phone almost exclusively these days to pay for things so no NFC is an instant no buy. I don't mind the back plate it's a take it or leave it kinda thing but honestly if they want to sell this phone in Europe leaving out NFC is a totally baffling decision. It would be a phone I'd look at as I don't buy flagships as the price is ok but not now. At least make NFC region dependant, this will cost them lots of sales for sure.

This is the harshest cost-cutting I've seen. The lack of NFC makes this phone DOA for Europe. All mobile payments here use NFC (compared to Asian countries where QR seems to be the norm). Every customer I work with uses tap-to-pay on their phone. Even the worst budget smartphones have an NFC chip.

          My God. This phone infuriates me. Who makes the decisions at Nothing?

            256gb CMF 1 is 269 euro, 256 A35 is 273 euro.

            A35 has:

            - 4 OS upgrades and 5 years of security
            - NFC
            - Ultrawide (always better than depth or macro cam only)
            - GG Victus+ on front
            - IP67
            - Stereo speakers
            - esim
            - 4K on selfie cam

            CMF 1 has:

            - a littlebit better chip
            - interchangeable back
            - faster charging
            - brighter display (not that samsung is much worse)
            - better battery life

            When Samsung is better than you for around same money.

            As a company, you made too many mistakes.

              After seeing this phone I think its really disappointing. I think a lot of people wouldn't mind if this was £250 instead of £180 with a few more features more notably NFC. There were too many compromises made.
              I think Nothing is a great company but their phones for my personally have been very off-putting. They choose to focus on gimmicks which I don't care about like glyph lights and now removable backs.
              The majority of customers just want a smartphone that does the job with good performance, software and battery life. Apparently phone manufactures can't seem to achieve what should be very simple requirements. We're not asking for much.
              My plan was to purchase this but now I think I'll see how the Nord 4 turns out in a few weeks time otherwise I'm stuck with a Moto G82 for another year.

                Damn, I'm so curious about the scroll button at bottom right, I thought it's have a function like volume, music player, view photos,etc. Disappointed it's a gimmick 😞.

It's not too difficult and isn't rocket science. Why go out of the way to ruin the IP rating just for some overpriced plastic covers and not allow battery access? Mind boggling.
