No rotating bezel, not much imagination, new processor.

Thank you Samsung for saving me money. I have been trying hard to buy smart watch and every year I say it will be the year, and then the watches become dumber! Not paying for No rotating bezel, worse the rotating crown is useless!

Designer / jewelry / analog type watches are fine with round shapes. But for smartwatches, it is function first, by having more display area. Round or circular is just not as practical in this case. Otherwise, you'll have to enlarge the bezel. Apple's approach is better than the previous circular Samsung watches. It is simple, functional, and beautifully executed. The sharp corners of Samsung watches make it look bulky, especially if larger than 40mm. But it is okay with sports type. I do have both Samsung and Apple, so I can see the difference and feel. I am a designer, both of aesthetics and engineering.

      Anonymous, 13 Jul 2024Just buy a Garmin. Better than both Sammy and Apple. Garmin uses a 12nm trashy cheap chipset, it's only saving grace is it's power saving (partly due to it being so tragically slow)

      The watches true value is more like 50$, 800$ price tag is for idiots willing to pay for something they know nothing about.....

      Garmins software is a joke aswell, it's TRASH

I bought the Ultra, because I want the new processor aswell as the better battery life, mostly. The bands should make it more comfortable than the normal watch, too. With all of the discount I pay several hundred Euro less for the Ultra with the Buds3 Pro and a duo wireless charger, even without trade ins, so I may aswell splurge for this, it will last for years before it's time to upgrade anything.

              The main reason I don't go back to Apple as a previous lifelong apple user, are their overly femine watch design.
              I use a smart watch and it forms part of my casual and working life everyday. The last iPhone I had was the iPhone 13 pro max, but now with the s23 ultra and this new ultra watch I just ordered I'm set. Apple and its little rectangle is just no comparison for samsung round design.

                  - Why a Ultra watch cannot give information about freediving/spearfishing/dive... don't seems ultra
                  - Why a rectangular with a circle on top....why not use the rectangular space... much better for data

                    Like Ultra design. Plain round or curvy rectangle is really boring and we have enough of these from all and sundry! This looks very distinctive and comes with very durable material. Hope it's battery stays longer. My Watch 6 Classic is fine but I have recently put a case which has made it to look like Rectangle with the circular dial inside! You can easily spot it as an expensive eToy! After paying sovmuch you don't want to look like Apple Watch Any!

                      I have to say it. Galaxy watch ultra takes the worst of the two worlds.
                      A square smartwatch has the advantage of better showing informations on the display and the disadvantage of the shape which makes it more of a portable screen than a watch.
                      A round smartwatch has the advantage of looking more like a proper watch but the disadvantage of the informations showing worse on the round display.
                      An then comes the Galaxy watch ultra with the squarish shape and round display.

                                  Will keep my 6 classic. Shorter battery life and slower cpu but much better design and cool rotating bezel. I don't use it heavily anyway.

                                    Lol, they keep mocking Apple for everything and literally make anti-Apple advertisements and banners, and look how shamelessly they take everything from Apple. The color-scheme, the band, the crown design, the idea, the name everything is taken from them. Apple definitely has some class when it comes to PR and marketing.

                                    PS: I am actually a part of Samsung eco-system and I love it, just that I don't like their mocking mindset.
