Samsung Galaxy Watch7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra can't be wirelessly charged by your phone

Watches are glorified ... moreThe sensor is too thick, without upgrading the charging coil in future phone models there isn't much Samsung can do here. I had a Watch5 for half a year or so and used reverse wireless charging maybe twice, with one of those times being purely to show it to a colleague. If I had headphones quickly charging it when low would have definitely been used way more often and I actually got to charge other phones plenty of times, it has been a lifesafer on many evenings ^^

While it does work with a phone the phone needs much bigger total charge and wattage than reverse wireless can provide. Add to that the many losses for a wireless charge and you have a recipe for disaster. So i'd say it should work for watches and buds and the phone should be the extra.

But yeah, this has been a gimmick all that time and one that mostly matters for charging your buds or another phone rather than their watches anyways.

                  Samsung phones don't hold that much charge that it can be used for reverse charging anything. It's slow af as well. A fast wired charger gets me enough charge in 20-30 mins to last a day for any of their wireless devices. Useless feature, a gimmick at best.

                    Like anyone cares.
                    Useless feature at most.
                    Convient cable charging way better and way faster.

                      Thought it is understandable that some people may use this feature but I have never used the Watch wireless charge feature via phone, I use both samsung watch & s24, It wasn't never necessary for me or never required to use the phone to watch charge usually I just took watch provided charger if I was travelling.

                        Don't worry! Samsung will announce the Galaxy S25 Mega model that will be able to charge the Watch 7 and Ultra. Of course, the S25 Mega will be more expensive than the S25 Ultra due the stunning BRAND NEW MEGA feature.

                          we want a square screen not a square frame.

                            Don't worry! Samsung will announce the Galaxy S25 Mega model that will be able to charge the Watch 7 and Ultra. Of course, the S25 Mega will be more expensive than the S25 Ultra due the stunning BRAND NEW MEGA feature.

                              That is a big disappointment. It is one more charger to have to carry with you.
                              I did pre-order it, though as I am more focused on the health measurements.
                              Hopefully, the measurements would compensate for that, and the battery would last longer.

                                naap51d, 12 Jul 2024No rotating bezel....bzzzzz PASS! Just like I did on the 5Classic are next year, they have 2 years launch. Classic 4, 6, 8 and PRO/ULTRA 5, 7, 9. Only common galaxy watches are each year.

                                  I found this out by mistake that I can charge my Galaxy Watch 4 on my S23 Ultra. It's really cool if you're traveling and you don't have to carry your watch puck with you as well. You could just charge it on your phone. Not being able to do that anymore is such an oversight and is really annoying missing feature.

                                        the tech nerd, 12 Jul 2024it's dumb shit like this i feel like switching to ipho... moreto me they aren't copy cat but what i been waiting for since i hate gel tips everyone is doing why fix what wasn't broken stem and open ear like all ear phones used to be, u know when they were wired and something apple didn't invent, always fit best and didn't fall out which seems was the case for majority in the study they did and why they made the change and I'm glad they did it, was an easy cop for me 🤷‍♂️
