And no, 3264 isn't even in second half of 3000s, so 3264*2448 isn't 4kk while 1920*3840 would be and 4k is defined by one of resolutions being near to 4k, cinematic 4k is 2160*4096. Most video is done in 16:9

jerem06, 17 Jul 2024I'm talking to you about the photo...I'm really dumbfounded by this comment. What do you think a video is? It's captured in frames a.k.a. still pictures, that means 30fps video is made up by 30 photos in a second, it's basically a slideshow of photos. That means when you record a 30fps video you are basically taking 30 photos every second, how hard is that to understand?
Besides I never argued specifically about video, digital zoom or cropping is used in photos and videos, while pixel binning is only used in photos most of the time. Did you even read my comment and the attached links?
It really feels like I'm talking to grade schooler here...

jerem06, 17 Jul 2024I'm talking to you about the photo...Video is pretty much just multiple photos captured consecutively then stitched together, are you stupid? Look up how film reels works, and compare it to capturing to photos, it's literally the same.

=8.3MP
That's only true if you're cropping from 4:3, but 8MP is defined by pixels count, so if the aspect ratio is not issue every 8MP pictures/videos is 4K.

>Many cameras, including mobile phone cameras, also employ lossless digital zoom for video recording by using the spare resolution of the image sensor for cropping by taking advantage of used video frame resolutions often being significantly below the available resolution of the image sensors.
FYI 4K is 8MP, now imagine how much zooming is that from 50MP, that's like 24K.

They only call it "lossless" because it outputs the same resolution as binned 1x image. 50MP sensor with 4-in-1 or 2x2 binning at 1x magnification outputs 12.5MP picture, the same amount as unbinned "2x lossless zoom".
