next galaxy sure will inspire with this design. Because they like to c*"'; sony design. look at the s22U was 89% similar to xperia xz premium. typical c*"''c mentality.

Look what they did to the Xperia 1 VI; they stripped the 4K panel and photography app. The 5 V was also a downgrade, so it's not a shock if they get rid of the shutter button because they are literally downgrading.

I'll wait until this September for the accuracy of this information because the Xperia 5 without a shutter button is unheard of, as the characteristic of a no-shutter button is the Xperia 10 or Ace series, not the 5 series. And recently, Xperia 10 VI adopted Xperia 5 V's design language, so it could be a mistake, but we'll see.

That looks like a 10 vi to me, the rounded edges, the way the camera blends into the back, the camera flash is identical too... I think this guy is either faking it or suggesting that the 5 vi will have the same dimensions as the 10 vi which is quite nice if correct.

I doubt Sony would discontinue the Xperia 5 series as it has always been the direct rival to Samsung's vanilla Galaxy S and Apple's iPhone Pro. Also, the Xperia 5 is a better seller than the Xperia 1 due to its compact size.

first they removed one of the camera modules. Now the shutter button. come on Sony. whats next? the 3.5mm jack? smh.
i find the xperia 5 to be great for 1 handed use: xperia 1 being too much of a remote control and hard for 1 hand use so them killing the 5 is just sad news.

So y had the chace to be the premium "Apple-esque" android phone but they fumbled big time.
Can't make good phones, they make the cameras but can't make the software to capture excellent pics with them as compared to the competition.
Plus wtf is up with the forehead and chin on their smartphones in 2024?! I refuse to buy an overpriced, mediocre, ugly, phone like theirs in 2024, they need to get with the times or just give up like LG.
