It's a far cry from what a modern Nokia N9 could have been, this is more of a Samsung Galaxy copycat than a successor to the N9/Lumia style.

Agus Kondangan, 21 Jul 2024Now that I see it, no, that's not how it works. The 2x... moreWith the Skyline, the 2x zoom uses the optical tele (which has an aperture of f/2.0). Zooming at 3x, 4x or beyond and the camera data in Lightroom shows the main lens (which is 24mm equivalent at f/1.7).
What I suspect is the images are composites and use data from both sensors, hopefully the gsmarena team will be able to deduce further in their review.

The 2x sensor basically just digitally zoom another 2x so the resulting image is 4x. This output 12.5MP the same as 4-in-1 binned but for that 4x zoom they skip the binning process.

jerem06, 18 Jul 2024What is the point of a 108 MP main sensor with a 2x telepho... moreThe same reason why S24 Ultra have 3x telephoto even though the main cam is 200MP, pixel binning. 50MP with 4-in-1 binning would output 12.5MP picture, 108MP with 9-in-1 binning would output 12MP picture, and 200MP with 16-in-1 binning would output 12.5MP picture. As for why they do pixel binning, look up pixel size, I'm to lazy to explain today.

AnonD-1153685, 20 Jul 2024Horrible design Horrible might be a stretch but yeah, that pseudo modern camera island is not tasteful at all. Kills the nostalgia attached with Nokia. The bold HMD branding isn't helping either.

This one is overpriced or is having wrong Specs for the price. 7s Gen 3 or 7 Gen 3 would have been a deal sweetener along with 5000mAh actually capacity rather Rated capacity of 4800mAh to sell as 5000mAh one along with 65W Charger.

The price is ridiculous or the chipset provided is ridiculous for the price. And for $500 people expect 5 years of software support.
This not even Nokia branded. We fans always wanted a fabula design phone but this is an unsincere imitation.
I was skeptical of HMD not launching phones and talking big. Could have meant only one thing that they do not have the products just talks.

Anonymous, 18 Jul 2024Explain why/how?!Compared to the Sony, this one has a 144Hz screen, a much more capable camera hardware, 12GB RAM since 7s Gen 2 can go up to 16GB RAM, and improved user repairability. If HMD gives this phone three OS update with four or five years of security patches, then Sony is in serious trouble.

Garbage SoC and abysmal update period defeats the purpose of exchangeable battery. The SoC and the lack of the software updates will render this phone obsolete before the battery degrades.
