Apple iPhone SE 4's back cover to be the same as iPhone 16

I hate iOS because it's complete garbage, but it's still better than Scamsung with LagUI. There are no compact Androids and #TeamPixel is too expensive. I'm starting to hate the smartphone industry xD

Just compare SE3 ... moreBut dude, the iPhone SE (2022) started at $429 when it launched, literally no one bought the S22 5G, and the S24 launched this year with a price tag of $800. And the iPhone SE is Apple's mid-range device, so it will naturally have downgrades. There are no compact mid-range Lagdroids, so nothing will be compare to the iPhone SE4.

        The iPhone SE is a stripped down version of the pro models; so, I won't be surprised to see a 828P screen here.
        My major concern is the battery. Except for the pro Max, the battery life on iPhones is 💩.
        I won't really mind if it has one camera and uses an LCD. I mean, it's not really a deal breaker.

            But I keep seeing these 2mp cameras showing up on devices costing (in some cases) as much as £300, where they are often placed next to the likes of a much larger 48mp (or higher), wide aperture, OIS equipped main camera. And thus they serve no usable purpose at all, in the situation you are describing 9 out of 10 times it would be better to just take the pic using that main camera from a standard distance and crop in.

            Android oem’s apparently have a endless supply of these 2mp cams though, and more cameras always sound better than less cameras (even when it really makes no difference at all) so I doubt we’ll be seeing the end of the 2mp macro/depth infestation anytime soon 🤷

Cheap entry level phones don't get an UW with autofocus that can be used for close up shots but a macro does the job somehow.

                    And even if it's cheap enough I still wouldn't buy it. No I don't hate them or smth. I know their phone is solid. But iOS isn't just my cup of tea.

It's probably just a binned A18 Pro, meaning they are coming from the same wafer. This is not like A16 and A17 Pro, where both are different nodes and design altogether. So economies of scale wise, Apple would simply want to use more A18 chips so their cost would be cheaper per unit.

                          My argument stands and is valid here as well.

When the original SE launched, they only had 1 new SoC every year and all models had the same one. Now though they only give the newest SoC to the pro models. If they're segmenting like that with their base and pro phones, what makes you think they won't segment it even further by giving it a worse SoC than the base iPhone.

                            And I never said they wouldn't make the AI stuff a subscription, they just probably won't yet. The apple intelligence stuff is still really new so they would want to wait to make it more established before giving it to every phone.

                              But yeah who the fuck needs macro macro lens? We are not scientists or researchers.
                              So you are right. Macro lens can be omitted and no one will notice.

Apple will put the A18 on the SE4 because it would be cheaper for them to do so (economies of scale).

                                  And considering the money Apple is raking in on services, they will want to put Apple Intelligence as subscription, and thus having more devices with it is the way to go

                                  The iphone 15 and 15 Plus not getting it is simply due Apple short sightedness of using the A16 with much less NPU power. And Apple will have the solution, for those people to upgrade to the 16 or even the SE4. $$$
