Vin Aigre, 24 Jul 2024A curved screen is ridiculous for a rugged model. The way they advertise military standard-compliant phones under a self-regulated testing method is similar to how other brands use DSLRs to market their phones.

The irony.

Darth Caesium, 24 Jul 2024Yup, this is extremely perplexing. All non-Nokia phones with Gorilla glass 3 are prone to shattering for heights above 10 inches. I've noticed this in many Samsung A series phones and older flagships with Gorilla glass 3. I'm pleased that the cheapest Nokia phone available for purchase, has Gorilla glass 5 (Nokia C12, compromised by a dated chipset).

Even a plastic display is less prone to shattering, take a look at those older Samsung J series phones and Motorola's own low ends. At least, Asahi glass isn't this terrible for screen protection.

They could've simply used their ODMs to make reliable phones. Given their track record, we can expect them to not improve on their mistakes.

Zendroid, 24 Jul 2024So moto is making a phone that will break on the first day ... moreGiven that Motorola-branded Wingtech phones are flimsy, to begin with.

Why is Motorola using a screen witch they call edge¿ I have a edge phone the inconvenience of the edge screens are ridiculous, everytime you pickup the phone up or handle it the edges touch your finger either it freezes the screen or just goes on apps your not opening. I do have bigger hands. Time for edge to go!

Why does their branding always have to look so horrible? Can't they afford proper graphic designers?

So moto is making a phone that will break on the first day of field training. Roger that.

Sam N8 808 owner, 24 Jul 2024For other products, there's bullet proof glass. For m... moreIt is possible that what you call a soft composition glass is actually just a different kind of screen that's made up of thin plastic layers, like on certain foldables. Any kind of a soft glass doesn't always give protection against shattering
The glass be made thicker to give better drop protection but that will eventually fail after a certain point. Let's see what Motorola does this time. They have in past made some incredible rugged phones so I have some faith in their designing

Anonymous, 24 Jul 2024I believe in moto but how is any phone with a glass screen ... moreFor other products, there's bullet proof glass.
For mobile phones, there's Gorilla Glass. :D

Jokes apart, glass is also of multiple types and varies between 2 extremes, a softer glass that is shatter-resistant but can gather scratches very soon, and a harder glass which shatters easy but won't scratch with keys in pocket, and all.

I believe a softer, shatter-proof glass can be protected from scratches with a cheap screen/glass guard, and this is the best bet for consumers.
But a mobile company also thinks of its service centers' business, whose big portion comes from shattered glasses alone.
                    Let's see what Moto does.

Are mobile customers suddenly scaling Mt. Everest?
I mean, a lot of repairable, rugged or feature equipped (3.5mm, microSD) phones are coming (XCover 7. Skyline, etc and now this).

But love this trend anyhow! The entire market better shift.

If a 171 grams phone can be militiary standard without being exotic, then why not?

-, 24 Jul 2024For those interested this is not the Edge 50 Neo as it has ... moreThe Edge 50 neo is also rumoured to come with a 6.4" display (154mm length). This device however will have a 6.5" screen with a slightly smaller battery capacity.

And yes to me Motorola was best brand and still is.
No samsung, sony, oppo, vivo, realme etc.
Mototorola for giving insane specs on a pure android experience without any useless bloatware other brands still uses.
But thats mine verdict. Forcing noone to agree with that.
