Bonus point you don't waste internal storage installing it.
But you're still locked to whatever free-tier bitrate is given to you, most of them 128kbps.

Anyhoos, the thing Spotify has that the others wish they had is all the community catered playlists. I don't use Spotify myself either, as I prefer hires audio for my hires capable headphones, but I often do wish Amazon had those playlists and not the boring few we get to live with.
About this ridiculous price point for UHD audio... Good luck with that, Spotify. You're going to need it.

Tried Spotify for one month for free, don't get why people are paying for it. I unsubscribed after 2 weeks. YouTube premium is better and cheaper and I don't notice any quality difference in music (I use the Bose Quietcomfort headphones)

Lol 18 bucks for Hi Res & Lossless audio??
Apple music say Hi, just single tier and you get Hi Res, Lossless and Hi-Lossless audio. Plus Dolby Atmos and Spatial audio.
                      LOL to Spotify users 🤭🤭

Why this amount? The artist will set next to me and sing for me?

If this doesn't come with the long-awaiting HiFi support, I'd be a huge miss for this new tier. It has been years since Spotify talked about such support.

For $216/year, I better invest in a DAP. Wait, I already have a DAP that is superior to any Android smartphone. I rather buy CDs or digital singles and use my DAP and it would be cheaper in the long run.

I don't need access to 100 million songs. A few hundred/thousand best albums of the genre I listen to is sufficient.

yeah, why would anyone pay $18/mo for that when multiple competitors offer more or less the same product for $11/mo? at least i *hope* that people won't pay that, otherwise said competitors might raise their prices

They already make heck of a lot of money over Tidal and other services, but they still want to suck more out of their customers with this overpriced hi res and lossless plan separate from the basic and normal individual premium. See how that lasts, and how quickly people that want it cheaper do not switch or move to other services. Means not much to me on hi res or lossless. I just do not see the justification to make it costlier than what other services offer. Not hardly any extra benefits over other services. They need heck of a lot more features than a lossless and hi res to get me to do that high price.

I am not paying that. I stick with basic music only plan for $10.99 a month. Not when other services are $10.99 for hi res like Tidal. I am with Spotify for the unlimited songs in loved tracks. I have over 37,000 songs in it because I put in shuffle. Give me that ultra-wide variety listing, not no 9,999 cap like Tidal has but no heck way I am paying that $18.99 a month while other services are almost half that a month. Spotify is the new vampires.
