    I am still paying €6.49 for Premium Individual plan so no need to change for me.

      MP3 or MP4 who cares.
      And even you can dowload any video from youtube for free.

You can even see in the spectrogram, both play up to 20 khz just fine. Most adult human ears won't hear anything above 16-18khz at all anyway.

            Most people won't be able to tell the difference between a 320k mp3, let alone 320k ogg vorbis vs lossless FLAC in a blindtest/abx test at all. Especially if they listen with crappy sbc/aac headphones like airpods. SBC and AAC at 256k won't exceed 320k mp3.

            Youtube web with opus codec at 150 kbit/s sounds also very transparent, not comparable to a trashy 128 kbit/s mp3 file.

            People really caring about audio would much rather take a look into ways to optimize the frequency response to individual ear canal resonances and removing peaks, which will actually make a noticeable difference in smoothness of the sound and improve the listening experience. But god forbid someone tells the truth in audio voodoo land.

You can't get higher bitrate because your account is literally free account and Spotify knows that. Even if you can choose high quality audio in your modded Spotify their server actually serves you the low quality one.
              What your mod actually do is just hide premium tabs and pop-ups but they don't give you premium account.

                                    been using youtube premium which has also have youtube music (via vpn ) for 4$ a month, havnt looked back at spotify. It was somewhat decent with 6$ student discount but 12$ and now 18$ for better high res audio is just bad . I would rather buy a used cd from ebay for some album and use youtube premium for most music than this
