A 128k mp3 usually has no content/tones above 15-16kHz, while a similar ogg file already plays up to 18 kHz, opus probably already 19 or 20 kHz

                      only sampling rate (how tall the peak graphs are) and bit depth (the color gradient of the graphs)

                        It also depends on the encoder. AoTuV is very good and optimized for higher bitrates. For 160k I found the nero encoder to be very efficient. Nearly indiscernible to a 320k mp3, at least in the spectrograph

Even in my days being active in audiophile forum no one is as delusional is this. Soundstage is affected by distance between sound source and your ears resonance, that's why IEM sucks in it because it sits so close to your eardrum, and closed cans have too much resonance compared to open backs, while speakers are the best because there is no resonance except from the room and your eardrums are sitting far away from it.
                          The reason why higher sampling rate is favoured is because you can compress it for mastering and other pro needs, but you can't expand sampling rate of compressed audio.
                          Some argues records with higher sampling rate have more "air" though, it makes sense because even though you can't hear it the vibration and moving air is still there, still no connection with soundstage.
                          Also, due to Nyquist theorem, you need to capture double the frequency you want to hear, 44khz means frequency up to 22khz is undistorted.

                            14k-20k frequencies cannot be heard by anybody while listening to music cause they have too low amplitude, for ur mind to interpret, than lets say a rythmic drum beat going on at the same time in the track.

                            But our brain is a super sensitive machine and as u listen to music more & more everyday for years, our brain actually rewires the audio nerves and create a phenomenon called "psychoacoustics". Using sound waves above 12k our brain generates an image of a 'real world' as recorded in real time by the microphone called Sound Stage. So it's very very vital as even 96khz waves can be used by our brain somehow in this process.

                            But this is dependent of the imaginative power of the mind. A dull headed person won't be able to do it but let's say a person who can learn to how to use bicycle in 15days can

                                        Going from Prag to Paris is like 1400 kilomeeters. Whether i use Buggatti Chiron for that, Rolls Royce or Fiat 500 i will get there anyway. The only difference is the comfort durring the 12-16 hours travel time.
                                        But still i get there and the fuinal results will be the same i came from pioint A to point B.
                                        No need to pay XXX more for same thing.

                                        Like buying a super premium A bussiness class plane ticket when a common class is good enough for a same trip. Person will save lot of money for ghaving maybe a bit less experience but same results at the end.
