I hate AI but Google is cooked!

    I think it's Google whom should be VERY worried as it's core cash cow will or possibly be limited to mobile devices for it's profits.

    It'll heavily hit Googles aD revenue.

        OpenAI would need huge investments and crowdsourcing to make it work. I imagine their actual competition is anything outside of Google and Microsoft, say Yahoo!, DuckDuckGo, Beidou etc. If they manage to dominate over these established engines, then it's an AI race to the top. I see Microsoft being the most threatened by this. But this is just the start, OpenAI would need to take calculated risks here.

          I get "Oops, an error occurred! Try Again" for some reason. VPN doesn't make a difference. I do have an account with OpenAI which I can log in to.

            Am I the only one imagining how funny it'll be to see people try to use this to search for NSFW videos through a description?

              I'm going to be honest, I don't see this working out. Bing AI (fine, Copilot) is a lot worse at the sorts of questions you would ask Bing or Google. This is just stupid marketing buzz to keep OpenAI relevant as Claude and LLaMA nip at their heels.

If Gpt 5 is a step up in reasoning who knows what that will do to the power of search. I'm surprised Microsoft isn't worried as they are trying to get traffic to come to the new Bing. People will just use this instead. Google actually made a good move this past I/O to integrate AI with search as they will have beaten Openai for once.

                        Google search is unbeatable because Google ships with android devices. Plus Google has Gemini. ChatGPT is smart, but it will never beat Google search.

                            Next to useless. I can already ask ChatGPT to search the web, same with other generative AI models, and it will happily do it in this exact fashion.
