apple is again trying to lock in users with the new buzzword AI, I think M hardware is at the absolute top but the current OS is really bad when it comes to parallelization has no AI framework

rizki1, 29 Jul 2024I don't expect much, at least cheap 3x telephoto phone... morethere's a difference between a cheap telephoto and a cheap phone that has a telephoto. The 3x on the Realme can spank the S24 Ultra's 3x any time of the day. Idk if you've used cheap telephotos but at night/interior lighting they crumble. I primarily take photos after the afternoon or at dawn and my S22 Ultra's telephotos are only saved by gcam.
If you like telephoto cams sure but I think it's better to have a better main cam than a sh*t telephoto, especially for companies like Apple and Google who have exceptional zooming (cus they're too cheap to put the best telephoto lens lmao)

Telephoto cams are a nice differentiator between the Pros and the base iPhone. So I don't think that should come, besides, their 2x crop is some of the best in the industry. I tried the iPhone 15's 2x and in low/middling light you can definitely feel it's bad/not a real 2x but the 3x of Samsung's Ultra phones are just VERY bad. So what's the point of even having a telephoto sensor then?
Pro motion/120 hz however, it NEEDS to be there. If that thing comes to Apple's base phones nearly all other phones would get nuked. Unless someone REALLY needs specifically a 3x (that becomes horse sh*t in less than ideal lighting). Google needs to get itself together and put a telephoto on their base Pixel cus ain't no way someone's getting that phone over an iPhone with a 120hz display.

I wanna know who's so excited about these features besides Apple themselves and Apple fanboys who want to prove android fanboys (mostly Samsung's ones) that Apple can do it too?
Like geez I'd be actually excited if they allowed you to change the camera settings in the camera app instead of going to the settings app. They leave stuff like that out yet focus on AI. Great. After like 5 years this boom is going to go away and AI is either gonna be so normalized no one would really care or AI would be so focused on that everyone would just get annoyed. Remember when nearly everyone jumped on the "no bezel" hype back in the day? Or the curved screen hype? And the numerous other stuff?
This ain't nothing new but I just think this is a new way for companies to :
A.) Get data on consumers and sell them or give it to the government (Why would you NEED an Apple ID?)
B.) Use the data from the AI stuff to teach the AI algorithms, to further enhance their capabilities.
C.) Focus on AI so much that people who don't care are deluded into thinking that they DO care and should do all the AI tasks.
