Besides, the A56 isn't going to cost $400, it will cost more than that for a few months at least.

Xclipse 530 found in Exynos 1480 is almost on par with a Mali-G610 MC4, so pretty decent. I'm guessing the next GPU found in Exynos 1580 might match Mali-G615 MC4. Again, pretty decent. Midrange SoCs perform really good nowadays, so, no matter what you'll end up with, it will deliver.

So probably just marginally faster than my ~3 yrs old D1200 in terms of CPU, though I bet my Mali GPU would still turn out to be more powerful than whatever they end up using for the 1580!

Samsung has history of giving weak GPU with good CPU. GPU is always the first thing that starts giving problems & makes phone obsolete in mid & low Exynos processor.

I bet they will add 1 extra GPU core to 1480 GPU and done.

If they abandon AMD GPU I don't have much hope they will improve GPU more than 25%.

lokii, 29 Jul 2024we only have a geekbench page showing the frequency of core... moreBut i was not talking about D8300 it uses newer A715 & A510.
I was taliing about D8100 (A78+A55 on v8 architecture) because leaked geekbench shows v8 architecture & A78,A55 were last cortex designs to use v8 architecture.so E1580 can't use any newer cores.

I compared the performance of E1580 to D8100 & D8200 because both used A78+A55 while clocking almost on par.
D8100 used 4+4 design with similar max clock frequency of 2.85GHz while D8200 was 1+3+4 design with max clock of 3.1GHz.

Designwise E1580 is closer to D8200 but its clocks are lower so expecting somewhat similar performance or slightly higher to D8100 in CPU performance while being vastly inferior in GPU performance.

Why do you compare it to old flagships when the scores almost perfectly match those of the previous Exynos 1480. One has to wonder what Samsung even changed with this one. Cortex-X1 would have higher single core score. CPU seems about the same to me, just with the frequencies of A78 changed around a bit.
