How about keep performance the same but double the battery life?

Much better to buy older flagships than midrangers.

The Geekbench 5 multi-core score place it 3% slower than the 8 Gen 1, and it hasn't even launched yet. It will match 2022 flagships.

      GSMArena fell off.

Exynos finally catching up to a 3-4 year old Qualcomm chipset 💀

Digdigfig, 29 Jul 2024Playing videos on youtube requires a lot of power? Really? ... more778G is one of the best soc efficient wise, maybe you confuse it with another soc.

Sd 888 is first soc to introduce cortex X series, a core which use more than 4W, before that all old soc sd 865, 855, 845, 835 etc never had core which consume more than 2W, you can see jump of power there, many android phones could sustain 100% perfomance with little effort, during sd 865 era and below hence when sd 888 came out and use lot of power many phone overheat, if Oem schedule cpu to use Cortex X when playing YouTube then yes it will overheat, but cortex A78 even one made by inferior Samsung fab shouldn't overheat when playing YouTube.

So this means A36 with E1480? That would be the most powerful lower mid range phone. If only Samsung switch ODM for new design.

Really? ... moreI can understand about the 888, but the 778G on the other hand, is a very capable and efficient chip. I've been using the Realme 9 SE for about 2 years now, and the performance still feels solid, and battery life and efficiency has stayed the same consistently (basically, really good efficiency)

The soc (888) had horrid performance/watt which resulted in overheating. Simple as that. Both the 888 and 778G were bad chips. rizki1, 29 Jul 2024I recommend the S23 FE more than the A56.This soc going to way better than 888 and 8 gen 1, above score is Geekbench 5 not 6, with geekbench 6 it's going to be above those 2 soc. Also Cortex A720 is best core right now, better than anything at low power including cortex X4, so efficiency wise it may be better than like of 7 gen 3 and Dimensity 8300.
