The only reason you would need 16gb of ram is for the desktop mode on Samsung dex. Which is a pretty good validation for Samsung and other phones who support desktop mode. But at the moment this is just Huawei and Samsung that have desktop mode to my knowledge.

        That's your western-exclusive problem lol. None of those two high street brands have niche offerings like Infinix GT20 Pro or Nubia Neo 2 5G for cheapskate gamers. GT20 Pro even had bypass charging that is usually exclusive for Samsung high ends or enterprise devices.

        Maybe ask the holy western politicians to not be so hostile when it comes to free trade.

                Atleast Samsung use its own invented techs and spareparts mostly, plus it has better software features (+supports) and offline store networks.

                    I'm currently using the S24 Ultra with no issues. More RAM is welcomed, but a bigger battery would have hit the mark. That being said, I never experienced hiccups on the 12GB RAM, with RAM+ off.

Before AI that was clearly a pointless overkill. They're likely doing those as they're doubling down on AI running on the phone as much as possible, instead of on Google's and Microsoft's data hoarding servers.

                          Isnt 12gb ram enough. I think most emulators will not need 16gb to run a game. Unless you doing ps3, xbox 360 and up but even then the cpu and gpu i dont think it would handle it.

                                [deleted post]It's getting really frustrating as an Android enthusiast having to choose between Apple 2 (Samsung) and Apple 3 (Google). I really want an Android phone that's just different, like some of the esoteric Japanese models, but even Sony has withdrawn from my market, so there's just two Apple clones and Chinese trash at this point.

                                    16gb was a thing on Samsung flagshot before, so them bringing it back is more silly than what Apple does.

                                      If the base model has the same 16 GB of RAM that's good but for 1400 bucks I expect 512 gb storage and 16 gb RAM as base. They increased the price for the S24 Ultra and increased the RAM on the S25 Ultra. BRUH.

                                      Anyways, hope this pushes Chinese manufacturers to let go of 256 GB and 12 GB variants and push for at least a 512/12 GB variant as a minimum. Pretty sure they CAN do that, they're just waiting for a market leader to do something first. Google has got some serious catching up to do tho lmao

                                        Phones tech is stagnating, there is nothing excitingly new anymore, just incremental updates
