Would love to get my hands on a decent specced rugged flip phone. I work in the bush in bright sunlight and the format is the best way to protect a screen, and a standard keypad is much easier to operate than all but the best touch screens in bright light situations. Bring it on Samsung

Anonymous, 17 Jul 2013i'm never a fan of full touch screen phones. so this news... morethere are already android devices with qwerty keypad like htc chacha..and if you want slide out then there are devices like xperia mini pro...i dont think a person old enough to require alphanumeric keypad would really care about android and high end specs...

i think a potrait slide out qwerty in Dell Venue Pro was an amazingly innovative feature.

AnonD-156746, 16 Jul 2013from all the comments below,i can conclude that samsung fan... moreand from your comment, i can conclude that you're a pathetic hater and will always hate anything samsung.
if you actually read all those comments you must know that many of them mention Nokia, Motorola, Sharp, etc, so it's not just Samsung.
many people. including me, miss good phones with actual keypad.
ok, maybe you're just a kid and your first phone is an android/iphone and you never experience those good flip/swivel/slide phones, but that not justifiy you to hate people for epxressing their love for flip phones.

What's so puzzling? Samsung not allowed to copy anymore, so design goes back to sh!t again lol

Gotta say. i love samsung for their ideas and their originiality. Samsung is really good at differentiating themselves from the rest of manufacturers. I honestly think this phone is a good idea. I like it.

I don't think Clamshells will ever go away. I would take one if they hit Verizon. Maybe even a backup too.

It's got to be for the Japanese market, they love clamshell phones.

You all realize an Android flip phone is not a new thing, right? Samsung has made then before. Google the GT-B9120, or the even newer W2013. This is just a refresh of an existing product line

My father would love this phone, as it has keyboard and android. There is still a market where people (old people mainly) needs to have something easy.
Nokia still sells feature phones a lot, but adding android 4.2.2 to this will be the best seller. Hope price is cheap of this device. I love it for my father. For me, i have samsung s4 !

Oh, cool, a refresh of the GT-B9120.

The front looks tacky with the name Samsung plastered on the 'forehead'.
