If it will be the cheapest, it would be typcal for Nokia to screw up their number series so it no longer means anything... (but they kinda done that already and again with the 1020, it's running the old chipset but on a new generation, so it should be named 1025 or 1028, to show it's relationship with the 925/928, that would make a lot of sense for mid cycle updates, so there will be the 5/8 versions before the real hardware update, but minor tweaks, like new screen or added xeon or perhaps microSD card slot and other features like that, pushed by the operator or the public request)
Or is it simply the cheapest Nokia with a larger screen?
Will there also be a 630 and will the 5-series and downwards be using smaller screens (would make some sense, but it would also kill the hopes for high end devices with smaller screens or smaller screens plus added thickness for a slideout keyboard, from Nokia)
Or will the 6-series be downgraded to a pure budget line. After all, with 7/8/9/10 to use for higher end devices, they dont need the 6 series as well to be mid or high end (but starting their model program with 6 makes no sense at all).

4,7 inch screen with 480 x 800 pixel. Nokia should use 540 x 960 pixel to compete with LG Optimus L9. Unfortunately, the RAM is 512 MB. Why doesn't use 1 GB for price USD 325?
Still not insane, to become uncommon way, I think Nokia should release low end Lumia series with 1 GB RAM, bigger screen (may 4.2, 4.5 or else), internal memory minimal 16 GB, including microSD slot, video call camera, Corning Gorilla Glass and ClearBlack Display, but the price is USD 195.

Yes, get the facts right before commenting about the specs. Always same cry and compering to other platform like its that easy.
My Lumia 800 is quick and works smoothly, and was super cheap. I think there was same talk about the specs.

AnonD-162063, 17 Jul 2013"Called the Lumia 625, it is said to be the cheapest L... moreNot that it won't be cheap in this case as well, the 620 was quite affordable. It's good to see Nokia exploring various corners of the market at last. And for anyone saying that 512MB of RAM is too little, consider that a WP8 app can access as much raM as it needs, unlike an Android app that only gets 30MB regardless of the total amount of ram the phone has. Android is very inefficient with RAM, it shouldn't be used as a benchmark for other OSes.

512mb ram is not enough! Ive never heard of a phone this big having so little ram-apart from those cheap indian and chinese phones! 512mb is specs from 3years ago! 1gb ram is ok but 2gb is the norm and soon to be 3gb! If this is a challenge to android then the bot will be safe for some time yet!

For those people saying 512MB of RAM is old: Windows Phone 8 is designed to run on 512MB of RAM, Android is not. That is the only difference in RAM size. Grow up.

AnonD-165982, 17 Jul 2013512 ram this is the past century!!!! my HTC HD2 has 512 ram... morePlease keep in mind that the HD2 was the top-of-the-line model of its time. Also, Windows Phone 8 runs smoothly with just 512M of ram and the 625 is clearly going to be a budget device.
Imagine a solid OS experience, big screen plus other great features like built-in free navigation with a very tempting price tag. It's probably going to be a winning device!

"Called the Lumia 625, it is said to be the cheapest Lumia phone in Nokia's range."
It is not expected to be the cheapest Lumia phone. Thats 520. This 625 will be priced between Lumia 620 and Lumia 720.
