I'll take USB-PD and good charging behavior. It's fun to see charging an infinix phone from 50% to 100% under 15 minutes using just 65W PD charger but I wonder how does it stressed up the battery. Tried PD charging a laptop, it does slow down the charging at 80% but not sure if the AC adapter does the same. with PD, battery doesn't heat up while charging but pretty warm using regular AC adapter

I slow charge all my phones, with an older but good quality charger and a good cable. I know, some people have issues with this. I'm sorry for them. Issues cause pain.

I appreciate their efforts, but 100W was pretty enough for everyone. 300W charging makes sense for mega-sized tablets, but not for phones (consider the heat).
But one thing is clear, they should also focus on getting rid of 8 MP UW lens crap and instead, giving a decent UW!

Thank god this is happening.
Now I can charge my phone faster and NOT CARE CAUSE IT LASTS MORE THAN 12H AND I DONT REALLY NEED THE DAMN ULTRA MEGA FAST CHARGING EVERY 2H.
Sorry for caps. Just go get something to eat, get a shower or do something while its charging, it takes less then an hour.

CamoGeko-XDA, 07 Aug 2024Too bad it's going to be proprietary and no other phon... moreUSB-PD standard offers 240W but adoption in mobile space is zero
And also the most powerful PD supported wire is 180W and is yet to be released
So it will take another 3-4 years to finally see USB 240 W on mobiles

This only makes sense if it's for tablets with 10k mah cell.
For a smartphone, 100W charging is more than enough.

For god's sake have patience to let your phone charge and touch grass
No marketing materials and unnecessary hype until you see a breakthrough in battery tech

300w on a 220v outlet, we'll need to see on a 110v outlet

Too bad it's going to be proprietary and no other phones will be able to take advantage of this fast charging tech.

Where is new battery tech? Aside from graphite and silicone anode, the battery tech is so slow. Hoping for solid state battery or another breakthrough

Overvolting batteries will shorten it's lifespan.
At that point it's bye bye to battery preservation.
Phone industry, you need help from the hot swap battery technology.
Just build one with IP54 or better with respectable build structure.

Make 120 hz the industry standard for all phones first. I doubt 300 W would be that safe with only 2 cells. Splitting the batteries to 3 cells should do the trick.
