Well guys, i don't get it...some comments really don't make any sense. First of all I would like to say this is a great device, but also, might be a large fail for HTC and I will explain why. Main criteria for buying a mini device is compactness, followed with decent specs. HTC one mini fails on the very first criteria, although it has great specs. This phone is not mini at all, just look at it, its almost the same size S3/S4 is so a lot of ppl wouldn't consider mini, yet downgraded ONE with a bit smaller size. Putting the size on the side, it has almost all specs lower that S4 mini (CPU, RAM, battery, camera, no removable battery, no sd slot), yet very few advantages such as looks and screen. Although it has better screen, this could also be a disadvantage since it is a lot more power demanding that qhd screen, and having in mind smaller battery than S4 mini, it is clear S4 mini will outperform ONE mini in this segment by far, and the qhd full rgb matrix SAMOLED screen is great although its not 720p. Maybe its outdated according to the 2013 flagships, but if I consider my S2 still a great phone with a great screen for my need, which has even lower res. Not to mention SAMSUNG updates (at least one major update) and HTC updates (nonexistent except flagships). Having all this in mind, it comes only to looks, and we can say speakers. From all that we may conclude that S4 mini will sell far better coz it has all the mini range buyers want. Great CPU, GPU, RAM, battery, camera, software support, removable battery and SD slot. HTC will succeed in this case only if priced a lot cheaper which I highly doubt so as a competition to S4 mini i can see only SONY XP V. If someone can prove me wrong I would be glad to listen:) That's just my observation made following common sense.

I am an HTC fan but dissapointed with limited 16gb storage and the dimensions of the phone.Samsung S4 Mini is noticeably more compact despite the same screen size - 124.6 x 61.3 x 8.9 mm, 107g for the S4 mini vs 132 x 63.2 x 9.3mm, 122g for the One mini.

The front speakers in htc One Mini and htc One especially at the bottom with the capacitive keys took more bezel area and has increased their dimensions considerably than normal. One mini with 4.3 inch screen is almost the size of One X Plus which has 4.7 inch sreen and 64 GB memory and the price would almost be the same. So One X Plus will defenitely be a better buy.

not bad for this mini just that a bit disappointed with non expandable sd card.
s4 mini is not bad either but the resolution is indeed a drawback
xperia V is about the same size as both of them but with older chipset and adreno 225.

AnonD-27765, 18 Jul 2013They are capitalizing on the product name to generate more ... moreThis is a proper mini version, unlike the Samsung's S4 Mini.

This got a more-than-overkill HD screen over 4.3 inches and suitable hardware for this screen resolution. It's even got a newer Gorilla glass 3.

Camera (very important feature) remains the same (apart from OIS), and so does the front firing stereo speakers.

So it's still a crystal clear screen with the same camera, and the same speaker functions. Weaker HW for a less demanding screen resolution is understandable and acceptable.

S4 to S4 mini meant dropping to a qHD screen! With more easily distinguishable pixels. Not to mention it did not get the S4's camera, or several of it's SW functions.

This makes the S4 mini not a proper mini version, becuase being a smaller version doesn't mean the camera need to be worse, nor should it be stripped of the S4 functions. Screen and resolution of course (and hardware accortingly is ok), but not so far that it goes from being retina in the S4, to not being retina like the S4 mini.

There also no doubt as to which of the dropped down the most on the battery side as compared to their full-sized verions. Namely the S4 mini.

This mini version has completely nothing to do with the actual HTC One (and S4 mini in the case of the S4) except for the looks. This is a completely different phone. But people who will buy this think they will actually be getting a smaller and cheaper version of the One (and S4), not thinking that the specs have also been greatly reduced.
