KanagaDeepan N, 10 Aug 2024For the last few years, we can use our phone's charger... moreSeriously this is not possible and I don't even recommend to use phone chargers to power laptop (USB PD). The heat dissipation is extremely poor on phone chargers, they'll get overheated and start throttling.

For the last few years, we can use our phone's charger for charging our normal (65W to 85W) laptop. Now it is time to use phone chargers even for gaming laptops as well @ 0.3KW.

What is next? Using phone's charger to charge the Electric Car? /S

Anonymous, 10 Aug 2024The USB cable will handle it for a few months, then it will... moreNot going to happen bro. The only current standard that they need to follow is Type C connector and nothing else. How long/short cable would be,how thick wires will be, what insolation they will use, it's completely their decision...

SA466, 09 Aug 2024My comment from the previous article about this: "S... moreIt actually makes a huge difference for me personally, considering my lifestyle... They had few phones as successors here and there but mostly in domestic market only. Saying that, i think that there's some regulatory or patent obstacle in Europe... Also, keep in mind that for more than 120w you need to reduce battery capacity significantly due to heat management. More power= more heat (Intel owners know) = faster degrading battery. In phones with 240w you have 2-3 separate batteries and a separate controller/sensor to keep it under control, to prevent battery degradation(even in many 100+w). Once they manage to build higher density batteries at a price that actually makes sense, mark my words, it's going to be mainstream. There's Motorola with 125w for years now...

The USB cable will handle it for a few months, then it will slowly start to degrade and you won't be able to charge at 300W again.

              Let me guess

              Advertised: 300W
              Peak ( that lasts 1-2s) : 220W
80% of the time: no more than 90W
              Rest of the process: 30W

my gaming laptop charges at 230w and youre telling me this requires 300w??

Pl. It launch to globally special Pakistan.

Xiaomi too displayed such tech earlier, never released any phone with that. Just another way to build hype as always. only few models get released with such charging greater than 120w
But yes Chinese fast charging and battery tech is better than others.

                      Exclusive to Realme forever 😂

Anonymous, 09 Aug 2024Weirdly, after 240W of GT5 , realme has suddenly gone back... moreMy comment from the previous article about this:

"Surprised that they're announcing this. The Realme GT Neo6 went from 240W to 120W, Redmi's 210W Note 12 Discovery Edition didn't get a sucessor, an Iqoo went from 200W to 120W too. Also, Oneplus have up their 150W charging. I think the highest charging wattage phones released recently are Motorola's 125W Edge 50 models, and I think they're not even that efficient." Actually I was wrong there, Nubia Red Magic has 165W, But still.

I have a 120W Xiaomi, and it's really nice to be able to plug your phone in a few minutes before leaving the house and getting to 100% pretty quickly. It's great, but don't think charging even faster then that makes much of a difference in using your phone. And the phone does get pretty hot.

                                "Stop, stop! He's already dead!"

(Samesung and their ancient, prehistoric charging speeds)

Oppo , the tech owner, has never used that much on own phones.
Vivo used to have it on some iqoo branded devices, not anymore.

After testing the 68W from Motorola, I can tell there is very perceptive difference between 20 and 68W when it comes to temperature.
