Certainly not iphone or samsung ones that are made in India. If that's the case why don't they make the phones in USA or european countries? they don't have expertise to manufacture?

Both my apple and samsung devices are made in India and they are working fine without any issues. People are just jealous and targeting India because of some stereotypes or because the manufacturing is shifting from china to India and other countries.

                Chinese manufacturing industry developed much earlier than India and the workers are more skilled than indian workers.
                Maybe India would catch up and be better than China in future or not, only time will tell. But right now China is leading in manufacturing phones.

                      I want someone to legitimately provide proof that Indian produced devices are as bad as being made out in the comments section - just so that we have proper proof to avoid any phones assembled in India for some reason.

                                Chirag, 13 Aug 2024Now it is made in india then what will be the current priceLocal manufacturing (basically assembling) wouldn't really yield that much benefit in terms of cost of phones from the perspective of manufacturers. The import duty on smartphones was recently reduced to 15% in the latest Budget from 20% earlier (there is a 10% cess as well, so effective tax rate is 16.5%).

                                When assembling locally, many of the parts have to be imported anyway, which themselves attract 10-15% import duty. So the savings on import duty is only on a fraction of the total cost of the phone.

                                Then there is the question of manufacturers passing on the savings to the customers. Economic models indicate that with profit maximization being the objective, around half of the cost savings (or increase if that is the case) would be typically passed on to the customers.

                                So in the end, I would expect around 5% reduction in average retail prices of a locally manufactured Pixel 8 as compared to an imported Pixel 8.

Or made in... moreThis will never happen, unless China, India, Taiwan, etc. raise their loan and income systems above those of "the west". Right now cheap production is what runs chinas economy. AFAIK workers already refuse to work on the budget and companies try to "outsell" the western counterparts (see BYD cars). If china is successful, we may see price hikes in some years and therefore may be abel to produce in our own countries...but will have the same problems china has today.
