Garbage comparison, aspect ratios and thickness??? LOL Seriously?

18 grams, is about 1/2 oz. I doubt most people would know the difference.

Too childish comparing something from physical, hardware. Not everything can be judge by spec. Good specs not means good selling. Samsung strong in marketing and brand awareness and this is something hard to compete.

Samsung realized it innovated too much 5 years ago and hit the brakes. It wants to milk customers for their money by releasing the same product over and over again rather than make a good one.

No, this mediocre wannabe phone isn't even worth of the Pro name it's carrying. Honor, Vivo and Oppos however long ago killed Samsung folds. Even Xiaomi actually.

I would like to mention how a longer telephoto isn't always a good thing.
It'll depend on what exactly people use their teles for, but leaving the entire 1-4.9x range to the main cam, especially one that's only got a 1/2" sensor, will make the overall setup less reliable.

In that sense, the Oneplus Open has a big advantage, with a much larger sensor and higher megapixel count, it allows for solid digital zoom up to 6x, which then degrades all the way to 10x, and past that point it can be considered too meh for actual usage. Though 10x still is perfectly good enough given daylight conditions.
The Open lets a larger main sensor cover up the 2.9x, which only will show its true weaknesses between 2 and 2.9x.

Even once we put aside considerations for the overall range coverage, 70mm is a more optimal focal lenght for portraits. The Open should be able to get much better portraits just because of its larger sensor but the perspective you'll get out of a 70mm is much more reliable for everyday portraits.

                        "better aspect ratios"

                        That's super subjective.
I went back from the OnePlus Open to the fold 6, because for me it has the perfect aspect ratio.

I would use any foldable smartphone... as long as it's not a Samsung Fold model.

                            Lol.

Mentioning aspect ratio doesn't mean squat!

Nobody has yet to use the Pixel 9 Pro Fold (such a backwards name. It should be Pixel 9 Fold Pro) but I guess it's not a Pro device so lol.

Aspect ration only means something when it comes to watching videos or viewing documents: period. Letter boxing on videos on internal screen when launched is an issue on the Z Fold but double tap for full screen.

12 vs 16GB of RAM : valid but the Z Fold never had an issue of running applications simultaneously in AMY version = it is THE KING here! Not even Oppo's Find N3/OnePlus Open can hold a candle cause lying 2 applications on screen plus a pop-up can be done. Z Fold can have 3 apps plus a pop-up on screen, actually 2 pop-ups!!!

Heavier is STILL A MAJOR issue with the Pixel Fold. If ya girl is heavy but looks thin and you cannot lift her up over home threshold you look like a chump! Google has a VERY long time to loose weight with thinness something Samsung did! What's Googles excuse?! Why allow the excuses here?! Favouritism? Yeah thought so.

Better options against everything Google is THE main selling point of Samsung and their overall polish of doing so amongst any competitor is THE reason it's still the standard against ALL despite anyone's preference. It can't be argued globally!!

Anonymous, 14 Aug 2024Samsung probably has 95% of market out of China. In China... morePartially agreed, but once Motorola enters with Xiaomi on budget segment...

The problem with this outlook is that:

                                1) The Z Fold6 has a much larger main camera (1/1.56"-type vs. Google's 1/2.0"-type) and a much larger ultrawide (1/2.55"-type vs. Google's 1/3.4"-type). Neither of those figures are flagship-level, really, but they're still better than Google's. If Google can't outdo Samsung's relatively meh camera setup in all key areas, what do they hope to achieve?

                                2) The hinge is too big, as are the bezels, so the phone has a ridiculous 77mm width relative to a 6.3" cover display. This makes it uncomfortable to use, so any comfort gained by having a 20:9 aspect ratio is negated by this.

                                3) The quality of the outer screen compared to the inner one is just not as good. Samsung at least has a consistent brightness, response time and colour accuracy across both of their displays.

Otherwise, I can agree with this take, especially since this phone only has a 0.3mm gap between the two halves when folded. This makes it the thinnest gap for a foldable in its closed state, which I believe matches the same thickness as the Huawei Mate X3 and the Huawei Mate X5. That's an amazing feat of engineering in of itself, so it does at least show me that Google cares.
