I would avoid Samsung Android simply because of the outrageous amount of modification done to the OS. Samsung's vision of Android is not for me, unfortunately. Even if the Pixel brand sucks slightly, it makes up for with a better Android experience.

Yesterday I was doing some shopping, in one hand I was holding my bags with stuff I bought, in another my OnePlus open CLOSED because I want to use the phone one handed.
Meanwhile I am now at home, typing this message while my phone is unfolded and multitasking this site and a youtube video next to it, while under it is my chat app.
It's indeed the versatility, and some people DO NOT understand that.

Folding phones are about versatility, one hand usage is perfect when that is all that you can do on the go, while walking, doing groceries and so on.
And unfolding it when sitting on a couch, in a train and so on to have more real screen estate when you want to do more.
That is what folding phones are about, versatility.

It is reasonable to take the parameter out of context. A folding mobile phone is a complex device and must be evaluated comprehensively. And here the Samsung Fold6 is undoubtedly the worst folding mobile phone today: poor photo, unreasonable dimensions, weak battery, etc.....

The only thing that I don't understand, while folded the outer screen of both Fold 6 and Pixel Fold Pro 9 is 6.3".
But Pixel is 9mm wider and 2mm higher.
I remember having the previous Pixel Fold in my hands and it is too wide for me, Galaxy Fold holds much better BUT I wish it was around 70 to 71mm instead, with 1080p in pixel width.
But yes Google made a better phone than Samsung on their second try, it proves Samsung not wanting to innovate, not that they can not do it.

Gsmarena why too rush for writing this post, you should make a full review first.
Pixel fold has 4gb more ram and more battery but it doesn't mean its superior than zfold.
Please make a full review to have a better judgement.
This kind of posts will decrease reliability of gsmarena's.(is tensor superior than snapdragon?)

Never mind Google, Samsung is literally losing the foldable race to everybody, especially against Vivo and Honor. Frankly speaking, the only reason to get Samsung nowadays is because of OneUI.

And where's the bezel army that always piles on Samsung now that Google is the one with the worse ones? And where's the sensor size patrol that always piles on the S-Series now that Google is the one shoving tiny sensors inside their foldable?
And chinese foldables do have better hardware but as someone who uses dozens of different phones daily, HyperOS is a massive boat anchor for example.
"only a fanboy would think otherwise" I've owned 5 xiaomis, an iPhone, my fav phone ever was a Huawei P30 Pro. And this hatred for Samsung, OneUI, and Exynos is freaking absurd.

I have the Fold 6, and the reason I chose this phone is because of its slimmer aspect ratio. I can easily reach the end-to-end keyboard with one hand. The software is also very polished.

As of now, the fold and galaxy series has been stagnant with essentially the same iteration of the phone launched for the last 5 years. Only a fanboy would think otherwise.
The Chinese foldable phones has long overtaken Samsung technology wise, but most people just switch off when they hear China. Now, even Google, known for launching terrible phones that only fanboys like is having superior hardware, what's there to not hate about Samsung?

Purchasing a Samsung device can feel like a gamble. While their products often perform well initially, issues such as display failures or 'light saber' lines may arise shortly after the warranty period ends. Unfortunately, dealing with after-sales support can be challenging—if not hopeless. Their premium flagship phones, which come at a high cost, might only last for around three years, if not less.

Well yeah they were so much ahead of the competetion but they went sideways instead of pushing it further and getting the dominance in the market and now everybody catched up on them, now imagine what will happen if apple starts to sell in this market!
Still Fold series have something that other lack, which is S-PEN! such a underrated feature and what makes it WORTH it to have bigger screen otherwise it's just another screen within the phone.
But yeah... they should've added better cameras, faster charging, slimmer design OR bigger batteries since ages yet we got incremental upgrades for past 3years!

I own a Pixel and no Samsung phones but hey Google fanboy wrote this? The Z Fold6 has substantially smaller bezels and a much more compact fold mechanism - the most challenging things about making foldables. Samsung can easily change the aspect ratio and RAM without needing to make any progress on the "development race". Also the rear camera sensors on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold are just disappointingly small. And obviously from a hardware perspective, the Chinese phone makers are miles ahead of both Samsung and Google.

I played with both and I prefer Fold6. Narrower when closed works better for one hand use for me. And on the software side, Pixel Fold lacks features i got used to.
1. Basic split screen for max 2 apps as opposed to the multiple options Fold6 offers (3 apps, resizing...)
2. No S Pen or any form of more advanced pen support
3. Can't stretch a widget across the entire inner display, only 1/2 screen.
4. No Dex
5. Can't have different layout between the inner and outer screens. You add another home panel on the external display and it gets added to the inner screen as a second panel, whether you want it or not...

I would prefer a lighter foldable vs. a race to see who can be the slimmest.
The mm between 12.1 and 10.5 is not enough to make a meaningful difference, IMO. It comes down to the feel. The Pixel fold felt slimmer to me than the Open becaues the hinge has a composition notebook design.
Samsung's problem is they have no battery innovation they can use in the immediate future. They are potentially on the brink of offering game changing solid state batteries for EV's, but that probably won't trickle down to mobiles and wearables or another 4-5 years.
