Snapdragon 695 hater, 15 Aug 2024Never understood why wireless charging is so important for ... moreA lot of people use wireless charging platforms in their car, is quite practical and way more intuitive then carring a cable or a charger. Also a lot of people have wireless charging platforms in their bureau. Like this they never need to think about a cable or charger to carry. A magnetic charging coil is even better if you let's say, buy a magnetic wireless charging powerbank, again, no cables to forget or lose, and stays connected directly on the back of the device. It is quite practical if you have the circumstances. If not, then well, might not be that important.

Do want to be rude, but how many persons have you seen in real life? And how many were holding a device with wireless charging function? And how many from them charged their devices when you saw them? I mean...seriously...

Why put Google in the spotlight about no support for Qi2 in their Google Pixel 9 models when no other brands in the Android world (apart from HMD) have that support in their latest flagship models at the moment?

If it supports 12W or even 15W, well, I do not think that wireless charging will be a must-have thing. I think the minimum standard wireless charging should be 18W (which is equal to QC3.0).

Chinese companies are pushing innovation to the limits and are demonstrating that battery tech and charging, as well as cooling, cameras etc can all be improved much more than they currently are, yet Google & Samsung (the largest Android companies) are both stagnating and charging premium prices for mediocre devices. All this because they are complacent; they know that the majority of their userbase will just buy it without question or fuss.

I also wish that someone could make a phone that doesn't overheat constantly in the summertime, but that's neither here nor there.

Look at the OS and hardware releases with refresh rates being hyped and the slew of animations added with each iteration. Batteries are not removable and many fall for marketing even though so called new features eliminate gains made on battery life. The more you charge the sooner you'll need a new phone/battery. The faster you charge the sooner people face the inevitable.

Basically it's like home appliances. Older generations had appliances that lasted 20 years and had repair guys. Now it all ends being dumped and replaced. It's all about making $ fast and avoiding the consequences instead of focusing on customer loyalty.
