Arguing with you is pointless, you have a specific idea in mind and you just say random stuff for the sake of saying random stuff and arguing. I'd like to end this here as you're just a waste of time. Have a good day

I think you're being too harsh about the size. I... moreBrands have to offer different sizes of screen because it is better than " not having options" , but not having 128GB is not lack of choice.
Starting to think your whole 🚲 speech is just silly game. One more person that sits on couch and spend 3-4h daily on these useless thing.
Remember: not everyone lives the reality of just going to AT&T and grab new iphone for 1/3 of price Apple asks for unlocked variant. There are many out there that cant afford paying more than $150-200 on phone, but does not mean these people are not going to do many thing users of $1400 phones do.
Yes, people that buy A15, G14, Y28 use camera, have silly games, watch youtube, keep stuff on phones .
And other that have better phones that use in different ways .
Come out of bubble .. Your behavior is just way brands use to charge.ore for unnecessary stuff.

I personally think 72mm is still a bit wide for me, 71.0-71.6mm is the perfect spot for me. Still, at least it's not larger than 72mm, and the size is the one thing swaying towards this phone (though I'm happy to have something like a Vivo X100 Ultra or Oppo Find X7 Ultra since I value the cameras more than even the size of the phone).

I hate when people say "small phones don't sell" when the iPhone pro sales are pretty close to the pro max sales. Darth Caesium, 18 Aug 2024My hot takes:
1) The Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro should'... more1.)
I think you're being too harsh about the size. I've tried an iPhone 13 Pro and that phone is supremely comfortable to use in terms of compactness. I've tried an S8, S10 and iPhone X before and though it's not as nice as the iPhone X, I think it was at the very least a 9/10. "Compact" just means anything at or below 6.3" nowadays and imo that's fine. Better than NOT having options at all yk?
2. )
I'm not too sure about the UW cams honestly, yes they did downgrade to a smaller one but the aperture is quite wide too, from f/2.0 to f/1.7. It's gonna have a hand at getting better images but yeah, it would've been better if they got a 1/2" f/1.7 sensor. But honestly manufacturers just overlook the UW cam. There's no perfect UW cam out there apart from the Find X6 Pro's (not the older ones' as they had poor processing) UW cam, the IMX890. Perfectly sharp yet the main problem is that it's old so the processing isn't that advanced and there can be loads of errors like fringing, chromatic aberration, etc. But in the current landscape that one is indeed the GOAT.
Oh and btw, Google wouldn't have good selfies EVEN IF they had a 1/1.3" sensor. Why? Processing. They make selfies look lifeless. I've taken photos on a Pixel 7 and 6 Pro, saw samples from all of them and they have the same general trend. Only Samsung and Apple have good selfies and Huawei's ones would've been the best for me if it wasn't for their uncanny processing.
4.)
YES. Look at the press photos of the side of the phone. I thought I mistakenly looked at an Apple phone. Like Apple's ditching the completely flat sides for curved ones now, and Google is only NOW joining the flat side bandwagon lol. They're making a new problem and they're gonna solve it later. Pathetic. And mainstream reviewers eat it up! Like what!?!?
Oh and yes, the camera island looks like it was placed randomly. It doesn't look like it belongs to the phone, looks like an accessory. They stole the visor design from Huawei and still managed to fail at making an awesome looking phone. And let's just forget the durability for now, and think about cleaning it. The past one had to be cleaned from the top and bottom and now I gotta think about the sides too? This looks like a nightmare for normal people who don't like unclean things. Apple, Samsung and Google are fighting to make the most user-unfriendly devices of all time.
5.)
yes, 256 gb should be the minimum for all flagships, I'd argue that 512 GB should be the base for Ultra flagships. But companies like Google are either too stoopid or too greedy. I think it's the latter and that's worse. They want to push people to use cloud storage. Youtubers love paying Google for cloud storage, they love giving their info to Samsung, Google and Apple and even get ads from Samsung and Google, but the moment a Chinese manufacturer does it they lose their minds and vilify it. Double standards. Either all of it is bad or none of it is. But they just like to evoke strong emotions from the vocal majority and keep getting the views by praising whatever the majority likes, and also to keep getting free samples. Sad times. Independent reviewers ain't independent anymore unless they have less than 10k subs.

Also, WHAT DO YOU MEAN OPTIONS. No one talked about options. They talked about the phone being expensive without giving you anything, like the storage, to justify it. Imagine if Ferrari started selling Inline 4 engines with NO battery's aid and STILL charged the same as a Ferrari F8. That's how it feels like.

Neither do I.
But demanding expensive phones to only have storage size you need is dumb.
Having phone full of games is childish.
You sound just like the " no jack no buy, no micro sd no buy" ppl here. In the end they all surely having iphone or galaxy s. Just to troll.

jiyen235, 18 Aug 2024and by his logic, he isn't using 256 gb of storage so ... moreIt is about options.
Galaxy S6 had 32, 64 and 128GB variants.
Removing 128GB away, you take choice from those that dont need this much space.
I once got a 💻 with 1TB, I thought I would use at least 700GB. In the end, not even 200. Money wasted ..
Having flagship does not mean person needs 16GB ram ( that you can keep more than 1000 apps open still wont use this much) , keeps their lives on their phones ( like 3000 photos that you dont even remember many of them exist).
By the way, I am not using flagship. Still it has 256GB I do not need.
But does not mean I want or should be using phones like A05 or G14.
If Moto Edge 50 ( looks like only India has it so far) had 6GB ddr5 + 64GB ufs2.2 variant , it would be more than enough to me.

Photos and videos are kept on 💻.
Also editing on large screen is way better than doing on phones, even more if person has Samsung phone and its poorly calibrated display ( aka vivid/punchy/ " more pleasing 🤣" ) ..
I am not 12 anymore to have games on phones. Life has tons of more important things to use the time for
Nice to see the 21:9 ratio haters in the end do have streaming services on their phones. Just another evidence that hating 21:9 was never about ratio itself.

I'm really not sure why Google felt the need to rush these phones out of the oven. They're clearly not ready, you can judge this by seeing the performance benchmarks of the Tensor G4. It's worse than the Exynos 2400 inside the Samsung Galaxy S24 series. Why did they even bother?
Also what is up with those shiny bezels and shiny back glass, didin't Google get the memo? Or are they trying so hard to be like Apple that they're blind to the trends?

om, 18 Aug 2024Remember always the customer who sets the price This is ridiculous. If this was the case many overpriced phones should have been lowered in the price, but some are, some aren't. The decision makers were always the companies behind it, even though we were the consumers.
And if the base price is that high, it won't drop too much compared to what pricing that actually should be, with a Tensor G4 it's going to be a disaster to use as well considering it's still using the samsung foundry manufacturing system. Battery drain hell, performance lacking, heating compared to the competitiors at the same price bracket.
Shouldn't be this high in price to begin with.
