having switched to TSMC in their CPUs first time in history, this is a sign of their end beginning.

    Anonymous, 21 Aug 2024Fellow human, it's not about performance, it's ab... more100% and not only that, but also you have to take into account the multiple features that AMD GPUs just lack FSR 3.1 is a joke compared to DLSS.

    AMD CPUs have always been incredibly unstable and Zen 4, 5 havent improved - I currently am dealing with the Asus PX13 with Ryzen 9 AI 370 HX and before the BIOS update (from stock) it would bluescreen almost immediately with an eGPU - now after the update 5-10 minutes later and it works fine (Task manager shows usage)

      Vegetaholic, 20 Aug 2024What's wrong with Radeon GPU's? RX 7900XTX destro... moreYou will have to accept a lot of driver insanity, which is also why I moved back to nVidia this summer. No, still does not mean that nVidia would make perfect drivers - but I haven't had a single issue since upgrading. 4080 Super has been just trouble-free on all drivers that I've tested. :) I have read the Reddit posts about latest few driver versions being bad, but works fine here.

      Had a 6800XT for a few years, not going back to Radeon again until a major overhaul is done by AMD themselves, and still probably not really willing to go that route. Not worth the money you "save", when it's everything but stable drivers. Some good drivers here and there, but mostly just a damn mess..... And they are noticeably behind in features and their quality.

        Vegetaholic, 20 Aug 2024What's wrong with Radeon GPU's? RX 7900XTX destro... moreDoes it really? Rasterization performance is very good, but FSR still is nowhere near DLSS 3.0, RT performance is nowhere near RTX cards (yes, even older gen), AI performance is still subpar compared to NVidia. AMD is doing great in the GPU technologies of old, but still quite behind in the technologies of the future (yes, right now things are a lot more complicated than just counting frames for gaming).

        You can gloat all you want in an Intel article, because AMD is doing great against Intel, but... don't get too cocky. AMD still has a long way to go before entering the same league as NVidia in the GPU market, be it for gaming or in the datacenter.

            I can't trust Intel after the entire fiasco where nearly all 13th and 14th gen CPUs are prone to faster deterioration and will eventually go dead soon. How can they not issue a recall? What's even worse is that they have restricted socket types so you can't use the motherboard with any other CPU.

                Anonymous, 20 Aug 2024don't believe on what intel's advertised tdp is, ... moreOf course it will be more than that probably closer to 300w on full load. 125w is simply a joke to mislead consumers, at 125w that's with default speeds probably at 50% performance on light load without any boost

                  Waaa?!
                  No i3?
                  Oh wait it's no longer called i3, it's now called Ultra 3.
                  My bad. Teehee.

                  Seriously though, this is the only SKU where Intel is excels at.
                  AMD no longer makes any Ryzen 3 CPUs (If AMD did, then intel would have had a bigger L).
                  It's also the SKU with no "oxidation" issues.

                  No, I am not loyal to any brand.
                  In fact I wish that Qualcomm, Mediatek, Samsung, & nVidia would make x86-64 (CISC) chips, and Intel & AMD make ARM (RISC) chips.
                  Intel = Team Blue
                  AMD = Team Red
                  nVidia = Team Green
                  Qualcomm = Team Purple
                  Mediatek = Team Orange
                  Samsung = Team Teal / Cyan

                      Will this still be stuck @ 10nm w/c is basically gonna be another refreshed 12th/13th/14th gen just renamed & maybe bumped clocks?

                      3 generations already passed & it looks like we're back @ refreshed skylake all over again.

                      Eitherway Ima go full amd now as I don't trust their cpu integrity that could die eventually, maybe when they move away from 10nm.

                        Just go AMD for laptops.

                            Baggin, 20 Aug 2024Why is it called ultra? Why use the name ultra? Why is ever... moreIt might be because they want to distance themselves from the issues in 13th and 14th gen processors.
                            Given that the Ultra 1 series processors are not impacted, Ultra 2 series might help differentiate it from the problematic predecessors.

                              Why is it called ultra? Why use the name ultra? Why is everything using the ultra name now? This is a 15th generation processor, supposedly using the name core i. Everywhere ultra. Anything with ultra. They all use ultra names, weird right! I really don't like what's called ultra, it's bad. I'm really sick of ultra!. Uuaaahhh!
