Let's hope they shoot this 'arrow' in the right direction this time.

Way too many SKU (14)... and probably a few more later on (e.g 285KS).

I got a lappy with 1135G7 and 16 GB dual-channel RAM and runs WoW without issues. It's a matter of performance: barely getting 60 fps @ 1080p with 4/10 graphics settings. Never had any crashes.

Don't like the fact that only high-end SKUs have stonger iGPUs. Would like to build a cheap "gaming" PC using a Core Ultra 5 225, but, alas, it has only 32 GPU cores (I'm guessing it's 32 EUs => 256 shaders). I could go for AMD 8600G, but... seems to have severe driver stability issues in WoW. :(

Never understood hyperthreading tbh, always felt like it was a way to market their stuff as if it better than it actually is, like „this processor has 2 cores, but it has 4 threads so it performs like a quad core“ when it’s still physically a dual core

William-VC, 19 Aug 2024Another disappointing release from Intel, who could have gu... moreHonestly this is Intel's "ZEN" moment (but unlike AMD it's all three - CPU, GPU and FAB/NODE - not just the CPU). 265K's Geekbench scores are impressive considering it's a "failed" product (i.e. Royal Core is late asf and is already being ? if it's even happening as planned) - it already beats AMD's 7950X and 9950X is a 3% faster 7950X so 285K will slaughter 9950X with 4 more cores and higher boost

And yeah, 100W less power consumption is great too
Also taking into consideration that even the entry CPUs come with Battlemage iGPU and 10 CPU cores is fckin great for value

p.s. what I meant by the "ZEN" moment is: most of the technologies they're using in ARL-S are new and experimental, so unlike AMD's ZEN5 there's a lot of room to improve and innovate / builds on those and upcoming technologies
