To all of the people arguing if Chinese or European made phones are more sustainable and if the price difference is really worth the significantly lower specs, I just want you to remember that the most sustainable things you can do are keep your old phone or buy a used one

Holding onto that drained phone in the forest you are waste yourself. If you had any "Non-alien" intelligence you would've brought along a portable power source which you had no idea how it came about. And then you would've realized you were chained somehow, by your favorite brand you were still duped into contributing to.

It was a bad decision, as I believe it would cost a lot of money and be ineffective. In my opinion, what HMD has to do is to work with many content creators on Tiktok to create content about HMD phones. Not collaborating with Tiktok, but with Tiktok users who have a high reputation in public speaking.

Zero400, 22 Aug 2024Wasting resources on ads rather than improving the product ... moreSimply because of the solid foundation of abundant funding and marketing. A fairer comparison would've been Nothing and Honor. Both are spin offs of their respective parent companies.
HMD lacks in that aspect. At least we should appreciate them for understanding the value of durability and longevity, as well as prioritising user experience over on-paper specifications.

These partnerships aren't a bad decision as they potray a "premium" brand image to the common people ( by common people, I mean sport fans and others, not the people from GSMArena comment section lol). But HMD must remember to make actually good phones and not mess with their customers. If this partnership helps HMD to sell overpriced phones, I'd be okay honestly IF IT IS WELL SPECCED AND IS A ONE OF A KIND PHONE. And when I
say "one of a kind phone", I mean it should be meaningfullly different, not a gimmick like Nothing phone's glyph lights, nor useless AI stuff we are seeing everywhere. The HMD Skyline is an example of this "one of a kind phone" (though it certainly didn't intrigued me anyway, it did managed to intrigue others)

Same formula with their featurephone strategy, bring nostalgia to attract old lumia-base users. I wonder, more haters but more product lines. As nokia brand, they have long journey, as hmd brand, too early to judge by 1 or 2 journey. Hmd may fail with nokia branding, but repairability and nostalgia may different journey. They still have many portfolio includes some lumia tablet design and hmd fusion. And i believe everyone will hate too.

Problem is that HMD still have the Nokia nostalgia with Lumia designs.
While hardware is on their phone at best middle class bottom end with SD 7s gen 2 as their best offer and then ask 600 euro with what you get like Samsung S23 that still have longer software support then you get with HMD

People hating here on one of the few European brands that actually make phones. Perhaps if they'd been buying HMD rather than cheap Chinese iphone knockoffs, we'd be getting better flagships from them?
