This si stupid!
NO Smart-Ring from ANY manufacturer is EVER nor ever has been repairable! Nor should it be!!!!!
Epoxy is the only way to have q comforting fit on the inside where sensors can be embedded and have full unrestricted access to the human skin. Currently!
I don't swe any tech on thr horizon that goes against this anytime soon. Also it's not harmful to human skin either, nor abrasive like metals. Though I'm not sure if there is a hygiene consideration over time like is it resistant to bacteria collecting?
Not even sure that was a strong enough public question to ask thus far, I've never considered that until just now myself. Never seen any launch nor any review even mentioning that as a thought nor consideration myself.

Just looking at SUDOKWON is enough to say Samsung s definitely not green.
One of the largest and greatest landfills and is build next to a largest Samsung factory in the world in South Korea.

It could still be repairable to the nth highest degree of it as possible by some really great technician in his own unique expertise. Anything's manageable anyways! 😂👌👍

[deleted post]You drink coffee everyday day. You pay for internet every month. You pay for gas and lease. So buying a ring and using it two years is perfectly enough.

Anonymous, 23 Aug 2024Well, you won't do deep dive; but you won't rest ... moreWell that's a super niche scenario. Just because of a few swimmers who wanna use their ring while swimming, I can't go and replace the battery? Seems like a superb excuse for the company to lock down repairs I'd say.
If the device is made with repairability in mind, it won't have a prohibitively high price. These smartphone brands learned from Apple that trying to stop customers from repairing as much as possible is the best way to ensure they purchase a new product. Why do you think displays cost as much as the phone in the second hand market? And why do you think they make it so difficult to remove/replace the batteries?
I truly believe these companies just engineer these products to be as unrepairable as possible and Samsung seems to be going down a darker path like making Independent Repair Shops do some shady stuff by contract and having some problems with ifixit, like you can't even get a genuine part from ifixit. They also make it so difficult to repair like look at how many steps there are to just replace a battery, you'd think you're putting in a new SoC in there. These companies took away replaceable batteries and made them unreplaceable like holy moly man people don't think about this too much but this is far more detrimental than SD Card slots and 3.5mm jacks. Battery life is a bigger problem than anything else, at least for me and all the people I know. It's been the primary reason we've upgraded phones for the past decade in like a year or two.
And yeah, I know. Companies aren't that bad at first like look at Samsung till the S5 and then till the S10, from great to good to now unbelievably greedy. I just wonder what sort of hypnotism they do that makes reviewers and customers believe the "green" thing easily? And customers just don't care? Damn man. People spend more in 2-3 years on a phone than they do on a TV nowadays.
Literally 1984 man

It's to scoff at Samsung and other delulu companies acting like they're green and all the youtubers/reviewers eating it up, also their customers as well. Pathetic times we live in.

Not very surprising given the nature of the device and size. Maybe in a couple of gen but can't imagine how it'd be possible with something that compact

This is not surprising rather we need to see how long these things last. I bought a R18 Smart Ring for $20 which seems to last for almost 6-7 days of battery life but with minimum info that too not accurate (when I compare it with my smart watch readings, especially sleep data and steps). These toys might be just a single time use and throw once it last its juice. Many may not return to buy this due to this reason. The high cost associated with rings are not justified at all. On top of that some charge subscription as well! Smart Ring is a great con job if anyone spend more than $50.
