Syn, 27 Aug 2024It's optimised for secondary cams not main sensors.And? Why would I want an ultrawide or telephoto that small? Unless it's like the Tecno Camon 30 Premier, and even then, that one should've used the Samsung ISOCELL JN1 for all of its sensors outside of the main camera.

A flagship phone shouldn't be touching a sensor of this size AT ALL!!! The selfie should either be a Samsung ISOCELL JN1/JNS/JN4, or something even bigger like a Sony IMX858, not this puny-sized 1/2.88"-type sensor, or worse, a 1/3.1"-type one like Samsung have been doing since the S23 series.

        This sensor isn't E-Waste. See, small sensor size doesn't translate to poor image quality. With pixel binning, it becomes a 1.22micronpixel sensor, that can be used for an ultra wide, or a selfie cam. It's not bad at all.

            Garbage sensor. What's the point in using a 1/2.88"-type sensor outside of the extreme low-end? And yet, with the features it has, it's probably too expensive to be used there.

                can't wait for Vivo to use this for their selfie cam and then get stuck at 1080p 60 fps for video recording.

                Can anyone explain WHY so many Chinese phones have amazing hardware and even video recording capabilities but don't allow it? I saw Vivo's 1080p vids and they're a lot better than some phones' 4k vids. It just boggles my mind honestly.
