Tecno unveils Phantom Ultimate 2 tri-fold concept

It expands from a 6.48-inch screen size when folded all the way up to a 10-inch diagonal.

First time Tecno do the phone 📱 that I can buy

    It took me a while to understand this concept, but I noticed it doesn't first unfold into a foldable-like squarish screen before doing another unfolding to the tablet screen. Instead, it unfolds straight to the tablet screen. If that is what Tecno has in mind, I'm looking forward to this tech, and I'm saying that as someone who isn't a fan of foldable phones in the first place. Think about it - you have a pocketable 10" tablet with a normal tablet screen aspect ratio. I still maintain that a rollable screen is the better idea, but this is a good start.

      There will be those geniuses who will say why do you need an 8 inch device when phones are already trending towards 7" forgetting that is not just the diagonal size that defines what a tablet is but also the aspect ratio (for that, the 6.8, 6.9 and 7-7.2 inches of yesteryear like Asus zen3 ultra, xiaomi mi max 3 and Huawei mate 20x were truly big and wider-not like the skinny 6.6-6.8 inches of today that have much less viewable area-just nice to hold)

        all this and no one wants to make a decent 8 to 8.4 inch diagonal tablet with mobile data capability and GPS. (as that would take away from sales from all these things they peddle in so-called tablets that are larger or these foldable overpriced fragile junk) Decent mind you not 2011 resolution or some 3GB ram or some ancient processor (Samsung and co. already do this very well year after year)

          So now you'd have two creases to worry about. The hinges and weight distribution will have to be such so as to maintain that laptop type (lol) position for typing. Pretty soon I see this trending to a mini laptop. Like those 'tablets' that are 11 and 14.6 inches in diagonal.

Your so called Huawei and Xiaomi more than 80 percent of there phones run on mediatek products. 2: Tecno current high priced phones run on basically the same imx as other premium phones, can sensors made by Sony.                             The trifold need complicated casing or protection, you can not simply put this inside your pocket or bag coz of exposed edge of the screen. A thick foam pouch maybe.

                                        Another us3less gimmick if you asked me. There were also rumors that Huawei will also release such trifold device in the future.

                                        You see, the more hinges and mechanical parts, the more costly and prone to breakage this device will be. I don't also see where this tri-fold mechanism will be used. Mostly, the first fold will only be used as a stand, what's the use of it then? lol
