SIM card hacked, could affect "millions of phones"

It would be good if he could say what carriers are affected. I live in Indonesia and have 3 mobiles each with a different carrier, all with SIM cards. I would not be surprised if they are compromised given this country. I would be happy to dump any carrier that has security problems, or is just plain lazy.

    nice work.. y not hack credit cards or atm's instead of a sim card hack,? are we on 1960's? this is so dumb late..

            At the moment this sounds more like fear mongering to drum up support for his findings. (Does anyone use the original DES anymore? I long ago stopped using it with GNU/Linux and BSDs just because of how dated it was.) Nothing like finding a security flaw in something which isn't used enough to be consequential anymore.
