A small phone is something under 6 inches, not 6 and a half. The iphone mini is a small phone, pixel 3/4a, this is by no means small. Any phone beyond 6 inches can't be used with one hand.

I'd still consider the iPhone 12/13 Mini's size to be the true 'compact' size for a phone. Maybe I can stretch it to Zenfone 10's size if I'm being too generous but that is (and should be) the max limit. Need more good compact phones that I can reach from corner to corner with one hand easily. This edge 50 neo is just another big phone for me.

So the definition of 'compact' has unofficially reached the gigantic 6.4" screen size? Can't wait to see when we call a 6.9" phone "compact" (considering that's still the definition of 'large' phone) 🥴

If you use this website's search filters and set the maximum height to 160mm and the maximum width to 75mm (to get 120 cm2 and below) and for search phones from 2020 until now, you get 577 results. In comparison, if you set the minimum height to 165mm and minimum width to 76mm (to get >120 cm2) and search within the same timeframe, you get 1003 results.

Here in Slovakia Motorola edge 50 ulltra is from 780 euros,
50 Fusion from 340 euros
And Edge 50 pro from 480 euros.
See no reason to pay 600 if there are better and cheaper options or the one most expensive with 16GB ram and 1TB storage is from 780 case of Motorola edge 50 Ultra in peach fuzz color.

However I would argue that it is not only width, but height also matters for ease-of-use. For example, imagine a 180mm×60mm device. It will be more uncomfortable to use compared to a 150×70 mm device.
That's why it is the footprint (height×width) that I prefer to use.

Examples of devices that are compact are Zenfone 10 (99.8 cm2) and Pixel 4a (99.9 cm2). Even these devices just about qualify.
