Thing is, quad bayer limits resolution to improve performance in bad light, so there is no progress really. My Mate 20 Pro still is fabulous, but I wish I had not bought it! And d'you know why? The super 16mm Ultrawide CANNOT do sweep panoramas like the main cam can, so I needs must use an LG with the same lens that DOES.
With processing power as it is now we should all simply tell them that we cannot upgrade or buy another phone until they can ALL do at least everything the LG7 ThinQ series from 2018 already do better, never mind the USA saving you your money!!

My old Mate 20X is STILL capable of running things like PUBG, STILL has incredible speakers, STILL has the biggest SINGLE screen.
I really wish America would lift the stooopid ban, Where are iPhones made anyway (and Samsung, and...and...).

Livius, 01 Sep 2024I think you're still living in 2015 with this kind of ... morelol....u are the 2015 fella?
Kirin 9000S is a re-fab chip released in 2023 with 5G capabilities not the one with 4G or sanctioned by your rotten govt.
Btw even if its a 4 year old chip, do you know 2018 P30 pro, 2017 P20 all still work wonders, keeping up to the current 2024 chips with no issues?
other than battery not able to last well, all functionality are on par with the latest few chips, including running of games n multi-apps.
So if u aint a user, a good STFU and stand in your kids' corner is good.

christfild, 01 Sep 2024yes i know you can buy it online and import to your country... moreActually, no.
I agree with the previous anon guy.....Huawei dont sell exclusively to China only.
they have phones outside china selling like in Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore etc.
Even Japan as well.....the only issue is limited models as compared to before as they are not using GMS.
However if u wanna compare their past and current makes, i think other than the current P series and foldables, the rest are not impressive as before.

christfild, 01 Sep 2024yes i know you can buy it online and import to your country... moreNo, there are shops that sell Huawei phones and products outside of China. Actual brick and mortar stores, not just online. Where are you that Huawei products are not available in shops?

Tell me you're being ridiculous in calling the Kirin 9000S a 4 year old processor.

Goo... moreI think you're still living in 2015 with this kind of comment. But you clearly don't know that the 9000s is a 4 years old CPU. My point is not about performance, it's about buying outdated tech at premium price. But maybe you're another blind fanboy and you can't understand what I'm saying. For someone who wants to buy this device, they will keep it for some years. In some years it will perform lower and lower.
All phones are fluid now with good battery life. It's not 2012 anymore LMAO. Anyways, I'm done wasting time with you fanboys on this topic.

justasmile, 01 Sep 2024Well yes. Kirin 9100 ain't gonna be matching the Snapd... moreThe Kirin chipset will have features not available in the Snapdragon chipset, why should they price it for less? The only thing the Snapdragon chipset has going for it is speed which is still slower than Apple's A series chips and is now slower than MediaTek Dimensity 9 series. Maybe Qualcomm should think about adjusting their prices.

Anonymous, 01 Sep 2024The only thing you can focus on is the performance? Goo... moreWell yes. Kirin 9100 ain't gonna be matching the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, plus its Huawei's own chipset, so a cheaper price than many of these flagships is very much expected.

justasmile, 01 Sep 2024"Continue to buy outdated specs from Huawei at premium... moreThe only thing you can focus on is the performance?
Good thing Huawei hasn't traditionally relied on performance to sell their phones. There's the class leading cameras, fluid ui, snappy app load up times, extreme battery life, aesthetics and design and cutting edge connectivity and features. The Mate series won't be any different only there's a new chipset giving better performance on top of enabling newer features.
For your information, no phone vendor relies on just a fast chipset or performance to sell their phones.

Livius, 31 Aug 2024Thank you for making me laugh buddy. One more thing for you... more"Continue to buy outdated specs from Huawei at premium prices cause that's all you understood from what I've said. have fun with your rebranded 2020 CPU."
I wouldn't. I never liked any Huawei. I can agree Huawei is overpriced for the performance given. But comparing Tensor to Kirin is basically comparing a normal person to a physically disabled person, and you should know why.
