Anonymous, 02 Sep 2024Multithreading is what makes it possible. Multithreading doesn't increase the I/O speed.

Anonymous, 02 Sep 2024It's so that you can still update some small quick app... moreThis makes sense. Small apps should be prioritized, though.

It doesn't matter if you install 5 apps one by one or install 5 apps simultaneously. The time it takes should be approximately the same.

DeepIn2U, 01 Sep 2024Where did you learn math?!
3100 MB / 300 is 10!
He said "3 100mb apps", "not 3100 mb apps".
See the space in between "3" and "100".
Where did you learn to read?

News is worthless.
I STILL CANNOT UNINSTALL GOOGLE MESSAGES!
Until then I care less about how many apps install at once.
It's more critical to UNINSTALL apps!!!

Anonymous, 01 Sep 2024Nope, I've got the update and it's waaay faster. ... moreThat's strange. How it should be is that it should take approximately the same amount the time. Let's say the write speed is 300 MB/s. Installing 3 100 MB apps one by one or installing 3 100 MB apps simultaneously should take approximately 1 second. Why should installing multiple apps simultaneously be faster?

Anders, 31 Aug 2024This is should've been a thing 5 years ago. I can'... moreIts been a thing since 2011 I remember using Samsung Galaxy Mini using android 2.2 Froyo. Somehow Google decide to dumb down smartphones by making it update 1 app at a time (sigh)

I always remember since 2011 when use the Samsung Galaxy Mini, Android apps can be updated simultaneously without problems. Remember that it is a 2011 phone with a single core chipset under 1ghz, less than half gig ram, also less than half gig memory. Not really sure why our current smartphones become too dumb to update and download multiple apps at the same time until this update came

Hmm, I could see this being a welcome addition if you had a slower storage device(ufs 2.x or less), where installation of updates takes up quite a bit of time. Phones with ufs 3.0 and above will hardly notice the change as updates are already a breeze. The decision to allow more parallel installations compared to queueing them one after another allows underutilized read/write cycles to fulfil their next task instead of waiting.
