For people who want only an iPhone, this could be nice, if Apple price it correctly.
Still, there are older iPhone models which you can still buy as new devices (at least in Czechia) with very nice prices. iPhone 12 or iPhone 13 for example. And I am pretty sure this new iPhone SE will not be better than those iPhone models I said.

But, for people who just want a cheap phone that works relatively good, no iPhone can beat the Android prices. I had the chance to try temporarily a Redmi Note 12 5G phone. I paid 115EUR for it, new. And that phone was much much better than 115EUR. Also, it got Android 14 and Hyper OS couple of months ago.

What I am trying to say is that no matter how cheap an iPhone will be (let say 400-500EUR), they can't compete with Android cheap prices.

To figure out if your phone uses a cheap inferior OLED screen, just hold the phone into the light at an angle and rotate your hand back and forth. If you see rainbow colors on your screen rust means it's pwm flickering crap-o-led blindness tech.

If your phone screen have excellent 180 degrees viewing angle and no rainbow colors but rather a cool blueish tint, that means you hit the optical jackpot and are a proud owner of an excellent and much more superior IPS LCD screen next generation technology. Enjoy it!

LOL, 04 Sep 2024Probably an inferior OLED panel, to cut costs. Any OLED ... moreYes it's true. OLED is much more inferior and mediocre compared to the amazing much more superior IPS LCD technology.
Remember kids, never buy OLED. Always buy IPS LCD screen. Your eyes will thank you for it.

IQ200, 04 Sep 2024Then buy a cheap Redmi if you really can't live withou... moreI think you understood wrong. "Cheap Redmi" was to show the options we have in Android whereas Apple does not provide such option. Is there any iPhone with HRR display with only two or single camera? No.

Not everyone takes photos on a phone. I want the base model iPhone to be upgraded to a HRR display. Why is that so difficult? Just start the base model at $1000 but give HRR display because I don't want that telephoto hardware to be present in the phone.

Same case with MacBook, the Air doesn't have 120Hz panel? Look at windows they are offering OLED now.

At last because of no options available, need to use Pro models for phone and laptop even when the excess camera or power are never used.

Good for those who can adopt both iOS/ Android or Mac/Windows, but not for everyone.

Probably an inferior OLED panel, to cut costs.

Any OLED will soon be replaced by microLED. You'll see it before 2030.

Huh? This is old news and everybody already knew this, with BoE in tow as one of the suppliers. Somebody missed the boat.

A 3.5mm jack and a microsd card slot are insanely great value additions but the problem is suckers like Sony try to put flagship killer hardware and price the phones insanely high, making the phones bad by themselves in terms of value but it feels even worse when you account for the fact that these are basically the only proper "flagship grade" phones with these features. A Oneplus 12 for 1000 Euros with a headphone jack and microsd card slot is gonna be an insanely cool product and I'd buy it without any regrets. Another variant could be a Vivo X100 Ultra/XIaomi 14 Ultra/Oppo Find X7 Ultra with those features for 1600 euros. Easiest decision of my life at that point fr.

Anonymous, 03 Sep 2024What about the refresh rate? Apple will keep it alive till ... moreThen buy a cheap Redmi if you really can't live without any higher then 60 or if you like watching content with your dogs and cats. Just kidding ofc.

I'm having a high refresh rate since 2019 and probably the last "flagship killer" OnePlus 7 Pro phone which was among first to get the higher refresh screen and guess what...

On every phone i used since, high refresh is never turned on because of the battery that i prioritize much more then a "fluid feel" when scrolling. I mean it's nice to have but it's not mandatory. At least not for me.

Chinese phones have everything for cheap mainly because they have a different bussiness model where they have to put a new model every 3 months to achieve a profit and their models have to look fresh and with the newest functions every 3 months or so. But sure, when comparing phones there is no rules because phone is a phone and we compare phones right?.. well.. yes and no. Iphone can't be easily and directly compared with Android phone, because Android is free and everyone can use it. IOS is not free. But hey... Both are phones so why shouldn't be compared?... Well.. im sure you heard about comparing apples with oranges. This is literally it. You are trying to compare apple with oranges and you take into consider everything hardware and specs wise, but you totally all ignoring the software part.

It would be really interesting to see how many people are actually using the hrr on their phone as OEM's put their refresh rate on standard 60hz by defualt on their phones.

Don't get me wrong, i can see the difference in scrolling, i just prefer battery life more.
