Considering that you can use the Cameras in default app, probably means Facebook and Instagram has no interest (or Xiaomi doesn't give code) to get the Camera functions working on your Xiaomi Model in third party app.
Similarly to when Samsung started using Exynos, so much problem with apps, due to Samsung Exynos being closed off.
Easier for Facebook to optimize their apps on popular phone companies that are willing to work with them. Or it's the other way, Facebook see no reason to work with Xiaomi.

KondriX, 04 Sep 2024Oh common, what exactly will be 'hard' to sideload? - You're no longer able to sideload apps that designed for Android 6 or lower.
    - Trying to sideload an app data? Good luck trying to do that without using 3rd party apps/PC.

What I don't understand is how a company like Google can't take this issue seriously and make their OS more eye-candy?! Why Google products can look so good on iOS, while on Android they look out-dated..

Instead of developing unnecessary features, focus on optimizing third-party apps, please. I'm using Xiaomi 14 Ultra and I CANNOT use the ultra-wide or telephoto camera when using Facebook, Instagram,.... Having to go to the default camera app, take a photo and then upload it is too inconvenient and ST*PID, only some 'exclusive' android such as S22 Ulltra, S23U, S24U can, and there's not even 60fps, no HDR, no high megapixels. Add the camera API, that's ALL

KondriX, 04 Sep 2024Oh common, what exactly will be 'hard' to sideload? Some apps are feature complete and not a security risk.

You can't simple download/install the Neumann stereo mic app because it's, "too old." They won't make a new app because they are a microphone company with a few dozen people busy building microphones.

The Neumann apk doesn't use deprecated functions and doesn't connect to any remote server for data. It doesn't use mic/camera. There's no privilege escalation. It's a glorified calculator app. It's just built for a different target API, and later versions of Android don't like that.

                uglier than ever

Someone designed that hideous volume control panel, and then other people turned that into code without protest, and then a product designer trained in aesthetics and utilitarianism who passed a grueling interview process was like, "yep! that full screen huge bubble misaligned color bulge is the best possible method of displaying this information" and then a handful of internationalization people did not say, "hey wtf are we sure about this?? it's truly hideous," and then another panel of distinguished engineers and managers gave this UI/UX their stamps of approval.

and that's just the volume changer widget.

Look at screenshots of this monstrosity. For yet another year, the best ad for iOS will be Android.

Google has announced that Android 15 has been released for developers on the Android Open Source Project. The update will be made available on support Pixel devices in “the coming weeks,” the company has said. The OS will also be made available in select devices like Samsung, Honor, iQOO, Lenovo, Motorola, Nothing, OnePlus, Oppo, realme, Sharp, Sony, Tecno, Vivo and Xiaomi in the coming months.

Hemo, 04 Sep 2024Why do Xiaomi phones in particular wait a month?Ask Xiaomi not Google. Google releases Android 15 to AOSP means it is accessible to everyone. Now every manufacturer is taking the Andoid 15 and modifying with their custom skin/ui. If Xiaomi is late at updating then it's Xiaomi's fault.

By the way, Xiaomi is known for buggy and lack lustre software support.
