It's because of the heavily advertisement which is attracting people and since Sammy covers the market like a boss. There is no denying design matter to those people who love Samsung. Although, Galaxy S4 Active was the most beautiful phone from Samsung yet.
Yes, it's due to Android. Sony sell many phones compared to Nokia because of Android and you know, there is something called updating. Sony do it quickly comparing to HTC. That's a main reason as well.

Why? why it should be bigger than the Xperia Z? I don´t care about the thickness, and I don't understand why people care about if it is 8mm o 10mm... I only want to know why it should be bigger than the Xperia Z???!! I would be amazed if the Honami is the same size of the Xperia ZL, i don't care if it is 12mm thick, but it will make me happy if it comes with xenon flash

Is it just me reacting to screen on all Sony phones look quite insipid, dull and art restless when they are photographed? Have only seen the Xperia Arc in reality, and it was such an even hand. Do Sony so cash screens that they are in a class by themselves, or what is the problem? When compared side by side with the Samsung or HTC sees it's quite miserable out!

Actuelly you would thanks Moto for saving Android OS. SonyEricson did failed bit Moto could fail but Google make it alive after being save by the company that was created in 1928 and created the first mobile phone. And the X series from Moto and Google ur Android OS maker to dominate again the mobile market like in the Razor time.
Goog work for Samsung for using Android for great profit but sorry for Sony.

You gotta compare entry level droids and entry level Lumias and you can yourself conclude the results. For the dual core part, yep. Windows Phone doesn't need a lot of Raw power to run perfect. Heavy games run fine on a dual core 1.5 GHz and a GB of RAM which they need a numerous amount of RAW power to work smooth on Android.
As being behind in the race, yes, I agree. Nokia is far behind the current flagships in specs. Look at the 1020. Except RAM, it's way behind in processing power but as being promised by Microsoft. GDR3 update is on the way which will bring 1080P and quad core support with it.

I never hate Sony. Infact, I would prefer Sony and HTC over every other Android manufacturer. Xperia Z indeed got a marvelous design and there is no denying but like I said, I was talking about that link which I posted. My apologies if I offended any sony fan.
