I am an Android user, I also have an iPhone 6 and 12. Both phones are great, overall the operating system works well, easy, and it is fluid. However some important features are missing for me so I use Android, which does support split screen, pop up screens, and the likes. But where the differences between the two operating systems were significant years ago, they become less and elss each new generation.

I'm not buying one of these because iOS is not for me, BUT 60z is not that bad come on! The Dark Ages?!?? HRR is more of a price creep feature like UDFP. Seems cool on paper, costs more, but doesn't actually make life any better.

Player 99, 08 Sep 2024There are so many haters and the iPhone still works better ... moreApple has a great operating system and their hardware is not too shabby However Is there multiple user interfaces Spread across various android devices And a lot of them are genuinely Really good and probably better than IOS in itself. And things like biometrics unlock the most basic androids (for example the samsung galaxy a15) Have face Unlock and fingerprint unlock.

Player 99, 08 Sep 2024There are so many haters and the iPhone still works better ... moremany android manufacturers are starting to promise 7 year software upgrades so androids will receive updates forever too.
i'm not a fan of face id, especially when we have under display finger print sensors these days. it's more secure and significantly more convenient than face id.
as a mobile developer, the advantage of having hw and sw in 1 package is absolutely garbage. iphones don't all have the same processors and when it comes to software testing, we always ALWAYS test on the lowest end android phone we can find. any performance issues our apps have will never be apparent on the latest gen phones. be it android or iphones. therefore if you really wanted to know what phone we use to test and optimize for, it'd be redmi phones. we always test against cheap redmi phones if optimizing for a specific phone is your cup of tea.
high refresh rates arn't for everybody. the normal user would not be able to distinguish any difference between 60hz vs 120hz. i'm going to presume you don't play video games therefore you cannot tell a difference between 60, 120 or even 30hz. do youtube slowmo captures of phones on 120hz to understand the difference better. there are significant differences between an android running 120hz vs a 60hz iphone. it has nothing to do with OS responsiveness or anything of that matter.

Player 99, 08 Sep 2024There are so many haters and the iPhone still works better ... moreI have switched from iPhone to Samsung, and I noticed that there's is a lot of amazing apps that aren't available on Apple Store. We don't need Face ID when fingerprint sensor is much safer. Take a look to Samsung Smart Lock too, it's another level

Player 99, 08 Sep 2024There are so many haters and the iPhone still works better ... moreRecently Google and Samsung extended their updates to 7 years so no longer an issue (with flagships, anyway). And not having the latest OS or security updates may not be a huge problem after all. The iPhone XS Max that I own have the latest iOS (and will even get 18 I've heard) but it's hardware are starting to show it's age after 6 years and most iPhones do get new (often not original) batteries.
And while many Android phones are garbage, I've had no significant issue with any of my Samsung phones since 2015. Always more options in software than Apple ever gave their users. Having an alternative to Google's apps can be great (not all of them are great). With iPhone you are left with finding 3rd party apps as alternatives (which normally isn't as good as Samsung's own apps).
Face ID is cool, even cooler if you like having a notch or "dynamic island". However face recognition on my Pixel 4 XL works a charm too. Fingerprint reader can be better in some ways though. You have more control over WHEN to unlock your phone, rather than the automatic action of Face ID. When your fingers are wet, face unlock is nice to have though.
Best cameras are found in the chinese phones (Oppo mostly). The hardware part that is. If artificial photos is your thing then iPhone, Samsung and Pixels are competing for the crown.
Generally iPhones are more expensive to buy (for similar hardware) but retains value better. Owning cost for my Samsungs have been low. My Note 10 was quite a lot cheaper than similar iPhone Pro model. Also my S22 was cheaper than vanilla iPhone, with 120Hz screen and +1 camera.
2nd hand value for Pixels are quite bad so they will probably give you higher owning cost than iPhone or Samsung. It seems they have more hardware and software problems too. It's ironic that Pixels have software problem when Google makes the OS. Software problem on Samsungs have been very rare for me.
Basically iPhones are excellent devices but you need to accept everything that Apple gives you. In the Android world I can switch to a Sony phone and keep my Samsung Galaxy Watch. I prefer that kind of freedom.

There are so many haters and the iPhone still works better than any Android smartphone and will receive updates forever. No Android smartphone has Face ID and a large number of high-quality applications from the smartphone manufacturer, OS and hardware in one package, as well as simply hassle-free. Google has a lot of problems, Samsung has a lot of problems and they don't have better cameras than the iPhone. Are you offering to buy this Android-junk at the price of an iPhone only because there is an Android 120Hz which is not much different from an iOS 60Hz, or are there any other valid reasons? Of course, I would be happy to see 16 IOS 90hz, but despite their absence, the iPhone has no worthy competitors. I also note that Google and Samsung quickly depreciate and you will not be able to sell them for a good price

MasterOfPuppets, 07 Sep 2024Look at all these insecure droids. They never cease to amaz... moreJust because I heavily dislike iPhones it does not mean I cannot feel pissed for those customers that buy a non-Pro iPhone and get ripped off by Apple for doing so. What Apple is offering for that price is an absolute joke and since many iPhone users are unaware of this crap, we are the ones that step in.
