If a phone is 9+ inches unfolded I basically get a tablet. And after using a Tab S8 I think Tabs do have their place, they're just way overpriced for what they can do. So a Tri-fold with a great camera system is an easy buy for me.

Extremely valuable compared to scamsung s24 ultra, the Pixel 9 Pro XL or even the 15 Pro Max for that matter. Besides, being the first in something always means there's some R&D cost being brought down to the customer AND if there's no competition basically, who's gonna ask you to lower the price? The Fold's price was outlandishly expensive back in the day and inflation wasn't as bad as now. The Z Fold6 charges 1900 dollars where I live. The Huawei would be worth it even at 2300 dollars if people are ok with buying Samsung.

Marzooque, 05 Sep 2024Iphone, Google pixel and samesong are doing that for 6 yearsI was being sarcastic and was referring to Samsung Folds

GreatnessZ, 05 Sep 2024what's next? quad, hexa, octa fold... Companies are no... moreThese are marketing strategies, especially for a brand like Huawei which has a lot of sanctions.

Instead of dying, vanishing from the smartphone industry, they seem to be holding on. At least what seems to me that they still try.

BTW you don't see any innovation?
What do you understand by innovation?
Could you a little elaborate on that?

What about the company of which the logo on your profile?:)

If we compare these two companies, which one do you think is more innovative?

Especially considering the the fact that Samsung was the leader a few years ago as they're also one of the main panel producers in the industry and they started the foldable phones trends :)

Did you check any comparison video between Samsung's foldables vs others?

It seems to me that Chinese companies are doing much better foldable phones without giving up much on the hardware. Examples Vivo, Oneplus, Oppo phones.

Squeezing more battery into a tiny body(more than samsung :))
, competitive cams(even competing with flagship Ultra series which have the focus in the camera in fact :)), doing better pricing which gets you more by the price you pay.

I'm not Huawei fan btw. I'm even quite critical when it comes other aspects of the company but still one seems more innovative to me than the other...

Looks like an Honor Magic 6/V3 to me

            Huawei Magic XT

ALSO OMG ANDY LAU, I LOVED INFERNAL AFFAIRS. That movie was the inspiration for The Departed or The Departed was a remake of it im not sure but whatever the case, both movies are splendid!

Great job choosing a cool brand ambassador Huawei, like WOAH. Now we need another manufacturer to pull in Tony Leung, that'll be legendary frrrr

This huawei device will most probably won't be good because of Chipset limitations.
But Honor can just use this Huawei Trifold design with snapdragon soc in 2025.

Hell, if Tecno can build a concept device, I'm sure Oppo, Vivo, Xioami, won't be far. Hoping for others to launch Tri Folds in 2025.

Since the partnership was discontinued, Huawei replaced "Porsche Design" with the phrase "Ultimate Design" to keep the tradition alive.

That would require the outwards folding hinge to be replaced with a double hinge, with space to fold around the third part.
