    How would you pack this up and put it in your pocket? If you've ever owned a tri-fold wallet, you know that one fold needs to have a wider radius and gets worn more because it is on the outside. Not to mention, the wallet itself becomes extremely thick.

    Considering the right-most end has the camera bump, it obviously has to be the "base", as opposed to the wallets where the middle part is the base and the sides fold in, like you folding your arms. But here since the right-most end has the camera, the phone has to fold like a Z, which means that there is no safety mechanism to stop it from unfolding and getting caught in your pocket.

I was talking about thickness. The Mate XT looks like it is too thin to have a stylus. Huawei and Honor's styluses look like Apple's pencil, and those are all thick. The Samsung Ultra styluses are the only ones that I know of that are thin, and even those would be tough to put inside these.

          Besides, this is a first gen device. Calm down.

              These foldable phones are becoming nearly thinner than the styluses. Also, it's a valid criticism for Samsung cus their foldable is thick enough, has a smaller battery and has smaller cameras so they can fit in a stylus but the Honor Magic V3 man, it's completely stacked. And the Mate XT looks similar to the Magic V3 to me so I'm guessing they're gonna be packed in a similar way. I think your expectations are too high for the bleeding edge phones. For 2-3 year old stuff like Samsung's Z Fold6, you're right tho.

                  I hope Huawei makes some official stylus covers now, it's high time.

                    For everyone guessing the size and Aspect Ratio of the screen.
                    My guess is:

                    This huawei device will most likely have a 4:3 Aspect Ratio 9.8" (approx) unfolded display and 6.4" (approx) 20:9 Folded display If the size of the device is similar as Huawei Mate X5 (Teaser Image looks very similar).

                    Huawei Mate x5 has a 6.4" 20.8:9 Cover screen.
                    Size of the Display comes at 14.9 x 6.5 cm (approx).
                    Trifold would have approx 14.9 x 19.9 cm (6.5 cm x3 + 4mm approx ((because no bezels in middle of screen. Only 2 bezels on sides instead of 6.))).

                    19.9 x 14.9 cm is a 9.8" 4:3 Screen.
                    Very similar to Apple IPad 9.7 (2018), IPad 10.2 (2021) , larger than IPad Mini (2021) and without any bezels.

                      Foldables are 99% for reading mags, comics and books. They do not improve the so called "productivity" whatsoever. So this aspect ratio would be perfect. But of course, the price is off the table. Not even the white lines, dead pixels and dead screens have been fixed on foldables and you would spend $2000-$3000 on a ~three years device? Yeah, no.

                      I like how people see this as something revolutionary when TCL already developed all the kinds of foldables and rollables you could imagine, including this, of course, as early as MWC 2020, iirc.

                        Taking a look at Honor Magic V3 and Honor V Purse gives a very good idea what huawei might be doing. And honor has all the hardware already available to them to build this as well. Next year maybe?

                        4.3mm (both Honor devices) x 3 = 12.9mm + 0.3mm (Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 has least gap). With current technology, A 13.2mm thick tri fold with 7500mAh (Compare w/ Honor Magic V3) battery is easily possible. And given how durable Honor Magic V3 is, durability wont be an issue either.

                        Current Samsung Z Fold 6 is 12.1mm thick. So 13.2mm thick trifold with 7500mAh is perfectly justified. I'll take it.

                        They can bring thickness down around 12mm with 6200 mAh battery. That will be a beast as well. They will have to make one of the 3 sides as thin as 3mm. Not impossible.

                          I am very impresed by this.
                          A beauty and elegance in one device.
                          The only thing i am afraid of is a durability of main screen like with every flip or fold.

                            Having enough of Americans i mean IOS and Android.
                            Huawei did great without Android and US and they will be here to last, to survive and to prevail.
                            Once they will be as succesfull as Nokia of the old times.
                            I believe to that.

                                  Dont have the luxury of 1000 to fix the broken screen every week or two.

                                    Really excited. A screen that's like an tablet sideway is the best

                                      It is for want if a better description a "foldable phablet"
                                      This means if you have deep pockets that is an obvious benefit

                                      I'm really curious about the weight as despite the extra fold the weight shouldn't increase by 50% even with a bigger battery.
