Bennis, 07 Sep 2024Nwm, don't mind this comment, I just didn't pass ... moreHuawei makes outer and inner fold phones. This is a combination of the 2, it is both an outer and inner fold phone.

The design is interesting because this Huawei tri-fold doesn't need extra display compared to the conventional fold designs from Samsung, vivo, oppo.

what Huawei solution better is you will always use 1/3rd of the whole display.

Again, the screen itself is big here, and a taller aspect ratio is always better than a Fold's square one. That phone has horribly large bars above and below 16:9 videos. This'll fare much better.

I don't mind obnoxiously high pricing, i just hope it gets lower at some point or at least we get some great phones for cheaper for example how a Oneplus 12 just basically does the job of a flagship for far less.

How do you even use this to make and answer phone calls? Do you open it up and slap a tablet sized phone to the side of your head? Or do you keep it closed the whole time after dialing a number?

By your logic new phones shouldn't be made in general cus "why bother?" Like what?? What kinda reasoning is that?

Nobody is gonna crop 16:9 ( or 17:9 ) to 18:9 when these screens are no longer used.

Content is still 16:9 and 17:9, sometimes cropped into 21:9 ( imax).
Many phones have by default been set to always enlarge videos to full screen mode to avoid black bars. Nothing more.

Bennis, 07 Sep 2024Idk man, the N-Fold sounds kinda wrong 🤣 LMAO

                          Dual fold not tri fold.

Movies are most of the time 21:9 anyways. Besides, if the screen itself is big, you get a bigger picture regardless. Better than square screens that's for sure.

This is a work of art, the color combination is magnificent. The back being fake leather/leather just looks amazing and im sure it'd feel gorgeous as well. Camera island reminds me of the Honor Magic6 Pro and V3 too much but at least the camera lenses are arranged in the same way as the Mate X3/X5

I might not be a fan of Huawei's camera philosophy or their pricing strategies, considering their chipsets, but I'll always respect them for at the very least trying to innovate all the time. Pushing boundaries in either software or hardware, or sometimes in design. Bravo Huawei, this looks like the start of a new era for me. Considering Samsung's Galaxy Fold was always considered a prototype, this looks like an enthusiast grade finished product in comparison.

No black bars while watching videos.
The current ones basically lose half or bit more of screen area when content is 16:9.
                                        Stuff like 4:3 , 3:2 , 7:5 are awful.
