Do you think it costs $600-650 to be made like some non-chinese phones?

It was double standards when sony 5 iv was €950 with earphones that were worth more than €200, still called too expensive. Basically phone was costing €700. Bit more than lame pixel 7.

X100 Pro was 1300 euros. With much cheaper SoC.
If it had 8g3 like X100 Ultra, vivo would have asked at least €100 more.

At least samsung in Europe asks similar price asked in South Korea.
Price is not raised 50, 65 or 70% , like chinese brands to in Europe.

Certification, shipping, import taxes and other costs do not turn a $900 product into $1650.

The green line issue is only affecting the 9 and 10 series OnePlus phones.

      120 Hz or fps?

Anonymous, 09 Sep 2024Funny, ppl here attack non-chinese phones for the price e... morethose phones are usually worth 200-400 euros less. The S24 Ultra should cost 1000 euros or 1100 euros at most for the 512 GB version. So you're basically paying for what you should have paid, which is far less than the msrp, OR you pay far more and basically get duped by Samsung. Same goes for Google as well but their phones need to be 200 euros cheaper than Samsung's ones.

These aren't double standards, these are standards. Hypocrisy occurs when you pay 1350+ euros for the S24 Ultra but you say 1200 euros for the X100 Pro's 512 GB is too much. Get a life.

notafanboy, 09 Sep 2024New sensor for 3x periscope : IMX882. OP12 had a OV64B.Lyt600 is crap. It has 2x2 ocl that is worse to digital zoom compared to 2x1.
            Ov64b is 2x1.
Anyway, with 1/2" other have had longer range. About 65mm is ridiculous.

They go into the most important aspect of frame interpolation THE INPUT LAG. That cleared a lot of problems up for me and I respected Oneplus a lot from that point on lol.

notafanboy, 09 Sep 2024Of course. Personally I won't have an issue with the p... moreWhen I got my S22 Ultra, only the Mi 11 Ultra was better, but even then, the software was quirkier than nowadays, there was on intermediate lens, the portrait felt a bit off to me and the battery was meh at best. The X80 Pro was the phone I was considering the most but it had a very poor super telephoto. So I'd say till the S22 Ultra, there was competition but it wasn't as strong, I mean the Find X5 Pro had a 1/1.56" sensor like yikes.

But after the X90 series Vivo struck hard, then came Oppo with the X6 Pro and then came Xiaomi with the 13 Ultra. They suddenly became 2 generations ahead of Samsung. So their pricing was completely justified for me. I just wish Xiaomi can fix their battery now, I love their processing a lot I just can't justify their poor battery in any way. Near where I live, the 14 Ultra is 100-200 bucks cheaper than the S24 Ultra, only then is the 14 Ultra viable for me cus of the battery. For me the battery is a make or break kinda deal. Oppo and Vivo have mastered it recently, Xiaomi's falling behind there. I go outside on photography trips and I don't want to constantly think about the battery and stuff lol.

Anyways in short yeah, a few years ago it may have been true but not since 2023. Every Chinese phone took massive leaps and i find it funny that the Oneplus 12 is the main comparison point for most youtubers against the S24 Ultra, now that's hilariously shameful.

It's an Ultra phone after all. But I always read comments from dumbos saying ridiculous crap like "At this price point you're better off getting Apple or Samsung". Like you wat m8? Idk what these guys are smoking but after owning multiple non-Samsung, non-Apple, non-Google phones, I'm never paying a premium price for a phone from those brands, ever again. Just not worth it in my opinion, especially if you care about mobile photography.

I'm pretty disappointed that they didn't use the 1 inch Sony imx 989 and went again for the lyt 808. The least they could've done was use the Lyt T808 that was in the oneplus open. Guess they did some cost cutting in the camera department since the snapdragon 8 gen 4 has a huge price bump.
