iPhone 16's new supercharged Camera Control button is some proper innovation

The Camera Control key is used for more than just camera controls.

Pretty much any Android device with a side mounted fingerprint reader can already use that button for gestures.

I know, disingenuous sites like this will hail this as something incredibly original and innovative. But the feature has existed for more than half a decade on Android devices like the Z Flip.

        More volume = cheaper production cost and possibly better profits

        Go look at a low volume product like the tri fold mate XT... Look at its price...

                              The amount of malding is insane and I'm actually embarrassed to be an Android user with you guys. Why can't you guys appreciate the creativity to incorporate these features into their software? The OLED has been readily available for so long now, but none of the other brands ever thought about making use of its capabilities to their full potential like Apple does with their dynamic island and camera control.

                              You can claim on how late they are to the party, but that's still better than being the first that implements anything and completely abandoning it on the next iteration before its full maturity.

                              Look at the engineering of the capacitive camera control button on the underneath. None of the other brands ever produced anything close to that level of intricacy over a button.

                              I've been using Android my entire life, and I'm impressed with what Apple does, and I have no issues appreciating something that is new in the market. Some of these guys insecurity complex is truly nauseating.

                                All of a sudden so MUCH love for Sony and their Xperia phones. 🤣
                                Poor Sony who is on the brink of losing phone business would be wondering why did their innovation go unnoticed till now.😂

                                  and then here comes the repairability comes in

                                    In my personal perspective, In the last few years the only innovation Apple is doing is copying android features and do a better implementation of it. Example is dynamic island, a lot oems were having it differently (many years ago an LG phone even having a separate notification island implementation ) Now this almost all oems provide a way to customize volume buttons for camera. Sony was having separate buttom for camera. Asus having pressure sensitive buttons. Now Apple merge everything and claims superior innovation!!
