yeah, DIY phone should be a thing now, as I'm knowing about Fairphone earlier. also, the modular as Motorola then such an upgrade bonus (tremendous amount of accessories etc)

Boris Blagojevic, 14 Sep 2024In modulars they should build and develops Hardware Upgrade... moreIndeed! A modular design should also involve the ability to upgrade parts but that requires a more profound standardisation of components across all OEM's. That is probably the main reason why most of these attempts fail as they are limited to replace parts for the duration/longevity (maybe) a single device. Very often a specific model or range is self repairable and somewhat modular but the successor isn't anymore or the layout and components have changed completely making the investments of making something (the sum of the components) modular rather expensive as you cannot spread it over a range of devices including it's successors.

In modulars they should build and develops Hardware Upgrades like RAM,UFS and SSD with higher capacity of 1.5TB and 4TB,2.1,5.1 and 7.1 System Speakers with Dedicated Bass Subwoofer Speaker,Projector,Modular for cooling with cooling fans for our devices and etc.

        "none of them has succeeded."

I would respectfully disagree. The modulare Motorola Z-Series phones were very well supported and kept going on for three generations of Z-phones. The Z, Z2 and Z3 (or even four with the Z4?), each of those in two different versions, "standard" and "extreme" (? don't exactly remember the names...)

The extensions included modules wonderful like printer, beamer(!), Hasselblad 10x optical zoom camera, 360° camera, power extensions, game controller, JBL speakers, sliding keyboard, and more - just to name a few. It was a great system with hot-swap exchange of modules, other than LG did few months ealier. Their system needed to be rebooted for each exchange of the (few) modules.

I'd count Motorolas modular phone approach as a full success over many years and generation of compatible Z-phones!

Google does that with software features, HMD with hardware bits. Don't know which is worst.

Carol-, 12 Sep 2024You would also probably have a Ferrari, also with 300 euros... more🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Did I ask to use upper midrange to flagship chipsets? No, one that isn't so lopsided in it's functionality and isocell hm6 ain't that good. Also it's bad to rely on just one chipset maker upwards of budget midrange chipsets, especially for someone like them and with that particular chipset maker.
