Why? They are getting bigger and bigger every year, their userbase is growing rapidly which means their services and other things make more and more money. They also have almost endless amount of money to follow interesting trends if something happens on the market. They barely have any real competition on the market. They also outsold Samsung first time ever for the whole year and they have good chance to do it again this year.
With iOS18 customization features they are also getting lot of Android switchers

The non-Max Pro is still their best offering relative to the competition. The Pixel non-XL Pro tried to provide an alternative in some markets but quite frankly it's not a very good competitor. Would still hold off until next year to see if the 17 Pro would bring added RAM among other changes (previously predicted to have underdisplay faceID but more recently rumored to only have a smaller dynamic island).
If I were interested in the vanilla 16, I'd probably just get the 15 non-Max Pro at about the same price.

They will continue to dominate sales but I would be concerned as an Apple enthusiast or a stock holder.

One thing I would like to mention as a Tech Reviewer, You as a company cannot satisfy every fan base but can try to come closer. Since Apple is working on it, people hope some new models and improvements. Things Apple need to fix:-
5000mAh Battery on Pro Max, 4500mAh on Pro, 4000mAh on Plus & 3500mAh on Vanilla.
New Things are required since you as a company launch phones only once in a year as a whole lineup:-
1. Better Telephoto Sensor & better zooming capabilities
2. Nightvision Or Infrared Camera
3. Instead of launching SE seperately, launch together; SE Battery 3250mAh
4. Some people need small phones for them launching Mini will be good with same base variant Processor with 3000mAh Battery
5. Some people need large phones so 7" inch tall & 5" inch wide will be better. 6000mAh Battery will be enough
6. Slim is reported to come on 17 series which is a good step but providing 50W Apple Official Adaptor & Charger is necessary without limiting charging speeds on entire line-up.
7. An iPhone Ultra model with 7000mAh Battery & Penta Rear Cameras will be good considering the craze. (Main+UW+5x Zoom+10x Zoom+Nightvision)
8. Prices need to be balanced along every country. It's cheap in USA whereas Costliest in India even though prices are less than last generation iPhone Pro Max. We are not asking for cheap costing, we are asking for similar pricing along countries otherwise people believe they are scammed.
9. It's time to remove dynamic island for a super straight punch hole camera. Not hoping it happens in next generation but I hope it happens till 19 Series.
I hope these things get sorted out till iPhone 20 Series.
That's all I wanted to say as a Tech Reviewer since the devices are absolutely fantastic. Just waiting for 45W Charging Test vs 40W Charging Test with PD Chargers.

I think the reason why apple added 0.2" to screen size of the Pro is because of the periscope telephoto.
Minus that, and it's the same old iPhone. You're better off getting last year's Pro Max.

As much as I like the 16 Pros, iOS just ain't there yet. I'm sticking with android.
