That's for example why Mercedes-Benz produces car models with smaller engines for specific countries like turkey where cars with more than 1.5l engine become extremely expensive. If I'm not wrong Singapore has also some crazy high taxes on "luxury" goods.

Taxes do not turn a $18000 car into $30000 in other places.
Or $500 laptop into $1200.
Profits do. They do it to make it up for lower volume of sales compared to develop nations.

Phone is not worth to buy though. If only phone was priced under INR 20000, people would have thought about buying it only due to Telephoto lens otherwise there's no other surprise here only letdowns. No 5000mAh Battery, No Timely Updates, Battery Drain Issues, Camera Issues & Performance Issues of Moto Lenovo via Updates are some concerns. Battery Life isn't that great even if you think it's good. SOC should have been little bit better 7350 would have well suited. Also Moto is moving towards average SOC in price segments which is a bad move. CMF Phone & iQOO provide 7300 under INR 18000 whereas Moto is providing under INR 24000. Similarly, 7 Gen 1 is provided by Samsung & Honor under INR 25000 but Moto is charging INR 27000. Similarly, 7 Gen 3 is available under INR 25000 in Vivo V30, T3 Pro, iQOO Z9s Pro & OnePlus Nord CE 4 but Moto is making it available at INR 30000. Similarly, 8s Gen 3 is available under INR 30000-40000 in Poco, Xiaomi & Realme but Moto Charges INR 50000 for Ultra which is a very bad bad move.

iPhones are most expensive in India from rest of the World even though produced in same Country & there are recent custom duty cut-offs on taxes. Similarly, in Europe, US & Indonesia, Travel Charges of shipping it from China to these countries adds to the cost which results in Cost Increase.

So in some case you pay twice as much for an iPhone or Galaxy S. But that's how those countries get tax money, since it's easy in such countries for companies and self-employed too escape the "tax net", so countries put higher taxes on luxury goods.

And it's the other way around for Samsung and Apple. Developing countries pay full price so first world countries get awesome deals and trade-ins. It goes both ways.

That's about 250-260 EUR and absolutely reasonable. In Germany Motorola is asking 499€ for edge 50 Neo. Even with 19% Vat, import taxes and fees pricing here is ridiculously high.
I kinda have the feeling that we are paying more for goods and services so that people in developing and emerging countries pay less ("compensation pricing").
