It's unprecedented at this price.

r.why.me, 18 Sep 2024Especially for a device with such an SOC offering. The Exyn... moreit stutters because it has a slow cpu and emmc storage. nothing to do with ram. the 4gb galaxy a15 is very smooth, it has helio g99 and ufs 2.2 storage.

Damn those listed specs are way different than what I expected (which was just an A25 with 1-2 features removed), but I like it. 90Hz FHD IPS is really all one needs at that price if more budget can go towards other components, and I have some disdain for OLED after experiencing the (un)reliability of an OLED TV first hand, and also seeing how easily burnt-in many Android phones of older generations got, even though my iPhone with OLED is fine. As always with anything that is not high-end, pricing will define its fate.

If this one starts at 150EUR for the base model...that would actually be a pretty good deal.

Hemedans, 18 Sep 2024What make phone stutter most of time is storage and cpu has... moreCosigned. Faster storage is a must. You may not have the fastest processor - it won't bother you in real life scenarios, but slow storage will make the phone stutter in many instances. I have LG V60 with fast storage and Samsung A05s with slow storage. Samsung's processor is fine, but the memory bandwidth often gets camera freeze and god forbid if you are using large capacity microSD with 30000 images written on it - the gallery will respond to your inputs LITERALLY in 1 minute. No such issues with LG V60.

Bottom line: if you are on a tight budget, get 2-3-year old flagship smartphone or something from Motorola. Entry level Samsungs are atrocious if you require responsiveness.

If you plan to use phone long term choose one with faster storage. We have phones now with cortex A73 which is more than 6 years old, definetely something like Cortex A78 would be fine 6 years later.

Is it actually using an LCD display instead of an OLED found on the A15?
If so then, that’s the tradeoff. An OLED screen in place for an LCD with 6 years of software support.

"Best-in-class OS/Security updates competitors are NOT providing."

Yeah, but any competitor will offer infinitely better specs so you can actually use your phone for longer, these A16 phones will be up to date unusable slow bricks in 2-3 years, let alone 6 years.

"Awesome design". A-ha, Samsung has something on Apple's "Amazing". Now the question is when Jeff Bezos comes out of the sleep and sues them both on infringing his "Amazon" and "AWS".

                                  Nice.

But let's take away the oled it just got and the 3.5mm jack.
There's always some draw back or removal every step of the way with the upgrades. It's awful

BrianCoriour, 18 Sep 2024LCD does it too. My lg g6 did it and it would last a long whileThat6just screen retention. It's not permanent, goes away after a while and is limited to certain products like your G6 and my Lg v20. A very rare occurrence.

Manipulating the RGB settings introduced by Android 9 make it easier to hide the issue.
